kwahl1 Posted September 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2006 I like a large fluffy towel. Are they considered extras on the Coral Princess? Order them from the steward? Or is it good advice to bring your favorite towel from home. I saw somewhere that the bath robes are extra, you can have them delivered to your cabin, they just ask that you leave them upon disembarking. Sept 18th baby! bjboothman Posted September 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2006 My experience with Princess towels are that they are so-so. Sure, bring your own, but you have to wash them - I couldn't be bothered. The towels are not that bad. Yes, just ask your steward and he/she will provide a nice robe (some are fluffy terry, some are a waffley or seersucker-like fabric) for your use during the cruise. Fuzzzy Posted September 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2006 Depending on your cabin type you might get your "Fluffy" wish. Mini suite and full suites have upgraded linens which include bath robes and "Fluffy" towels. :D
Sandy R Posted September 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2006 Upgraded bath towels aren't very fluffy. Actually they're ribbed, which I don't happen to like. Upgraded linens are a definite plus.
Toto2Kansas Posted September 13, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2006 I like a large fluffy towel. Are they considered extras on the Coral Princess? Order them from the steward? Or is it good advice to bring your favorite towel from home. I saw somewhere that the bath robes are extra, you can have them delivered to your cabin, they just ask that you leave them upon disembarking. Sept 18th baby! Let's see, we have gone through posts with others about the lack of lemonade or fruit punch onboard, no free ice cream 24/7, upgraded bedding only in minis and full suites, toilet paper and tissues that aren't soft enough, along with a host of other topics that will make or break a cruise for someone, now we are on towels? By all means, if large fluffy towels are that important to you, pack your own. Of coarse that will mean taking up half a suitcase, washing and drying them yourself and spending half your cruise in the self service laundry (BTW-don't forget to pack fabric softner as it is not available in the laundry areas). But if this is very important, do not use the cruise lines towels. They are regular towels, not velur or what I would consider fluffy, not even in full suites. So, add them to your packing list. ;) And as for the robes, they are great if you don't want to pack one to bring with you, but they are also not fluffy and once size fits all. Plan accordingly. Happy Cruising!
Steve13 Posted September 13, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2006 To the original poster: Please don't take this the wrong way, but are you really serious?? You mean you would actually bring your own towels?? Yes, I like fluffy towels, too, but I can't imagine dragging along towels that I need to launder or reuse for a week or more. One of my favorite perks of a hotel or cruise is fresh towels at least once each day (and often twice). There's nothing better than a fresh clean towel, even if it isn't fluffy. I'm always surprised at some of the stuff people bring on board (coffee pots, blenders, boom boxes, etc) but this is even more amazing. Of course, if that's what makes you happy, go for it!! :)
HR Girl Posted September 14, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 14, 2006 Sorry, I have to add my 2 cents worth. I personally wouldn't bring my own fluffy towels, however, nothing is worse than having the touch of a coarse towel rub against sunburned skin!!!
