Randy & Carmen Posted September 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2006 ....You are part of that sailing! I thought Laura made it clear but some still are not getting this....It causes us a lot of extra work to delete your posts from those threads....so please follow the rules.......Thanks:)

pholter Posted September 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2006 Randy, Understood, but I have a question. What if you're considering booking with the group and need information?? Do you then have to only email the group leader for that and post only once you're booked?? Sounds stupid, but I wanna follow the rules ya know! :)
MrPete Posted September 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2006 ....You are part of that sailing! She modified it to say this: 1. Effective immediately, members who are not booked on a specific ship's sailing and are posting on said ROLL CALL to start trouble or "disrupt" the flow of conversation will lose their posting privileges permanently, and without notice. I take it we now can as long as we are not disruptive.
Bunkie103 Posted September 15, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2006 I wondered about the above question too? I wanted to post on the SS2 thread and wish them a "bon voyage", but now I'm SCARRRRED!:(

Randy & Carmen Posted September 15, 2006 Author #7 Share Posted September 15, 2006 Yes..it's basically put in place for those that cause a disruption or trying to "stir the pot".....the people in the thread know those that are regulars there.;)
texas greeneyes Posted September 15, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2006 Randy, can you clarify this policy a bit more for me? For example, if I wanted to post a warning about the Galveston Causeway being shut down this Sunday on the Conquest Roll Call for that date, would that be permissible? Another example, I want to ask those on a sailing just prior to mine to note who the piano bar entertainer was, could I post on their Roll Call to ask? Keep me on the straight and narrow...;) Thanks! lhall85917 Posted September 15, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 15, 2006 Also, wondering about the no bumping. Is it considered bumping to bring a group thread to the top to keep it alive while still looking for group members?

I was wondering the same thing.....I have often found it helpful to ask a question about entertainment on a roll call thread for a cruise before mine as well as sometimes excursion experiences.....I thought that this was still OK...??.. selucrey Posted September 16, 2006 #12 Share Posted September 16, 2006 Also......NO Bumping!;) <--- 1. Effective immediately, members who are not booked on a specific ship's sailing and are posting on said ROLL CALL to start trouble or "disrupt" the flow of conversation will lose their posting privileges permanently, and without notice. It's pretty clear to me what he is saying. ;)
zydecocruiser Posted September 16, 2006 #13 Share Posted September 16, 2006 No Bumping in ROLL CALL Forums Please do not "bump" your individual ROLL CALL for your ship's sailing. "BUMPING" is when you post anything or even the word "bump" in an effort to keep your thread at the top or page one of the forum. Bumping = boring. Your fellow cruisers see that something new has been posted, and they click to read it. Instead, they find nothing more than your bump. Please don't bump. BUMPS will be removed; we'd appreciate your help by reporting bumps using the Alert icon in the upper right hand corner of the posting. Persistent bumpers may find their posting privileges suspended for a period of time -- without warning! Thanks, Laura This is in the roll call section - just curious if it applies to all roll calls or not
GoinCruisin Posted September 16, 2006 #14 Share Posted September 16, 2006 This is in the roll call section - just curious if it applies to all roll calls or not  I think since roll calls are in general more of a chit chat area, for people to talk and get to know one another prior to cruising, that things might be different. I would imagine just posting "bump" would be against the guidelines... roll call or not. But I think with most active roll calls, actions like that aren't needed. Randy will be in around 4, I'm sure he can clarify then :p

Sure.....that again is not disruptive. Also, wondering about the no bumping. Is it considered bumping to bring a group thread to the top to keep it alive while still looking for group members? No..that's advertising a CC group which is fine....just don't put pricing...lol....email me so I can clarify about that.;) I think since roll calls are in general more of a chit chat area, for people to talk and get to know one another prior to cruising, that things might be different.
