crewzrgirl Posted September 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2006 Help! I am a first time cruiser out of Galveston to Key West, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. We just booked 2 days ago, and I don't have a lot of time to research like I would like to. What are the ins and outs of the RCI Rhaposdy of the Seas? Any recommendations for shore excursions? Any info is GREATLY APPRECIATED and WELCOME. Also, what is the "Meet and Greet" I keep seeing on here? Thanks so much!
DHADEN Posted September 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2006 Help! First of all, WElCOME TO THE PARTY!! :D Now, tell us a little about when you are sailing. Have you been on other ships before (for a comparison reference)? Do you live in, or are you from Texas? Most people (about 80%) on the Rhapsody are. It's a good-ol'-boy atmosphere and VERY friendly. What kind of things do you like to do on excursions? Scuba? Snorkle? Lay on beach? Shop? Sight-see? There are tons of links in Cruise Critiic: Look for "ports" and read about yours. Look for "Rhapsody of the Seas" and read reviews (especially recent ones with the same itenerary. As for the Meet & Mingle, here is the link that will take you to the "Rollcall Forums" for Rhapsody. Click on this and then look for your sail-date. These are people who are going on the cruise the same time as you, and they are getting to know each other before the cruise. They will also answer a lot of your questions. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=270 Hope This Helps. Good luck and EEENNNJJJOOOYYY!!! :D
madisonswims Posted September 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Hi there. In Grand Caymen you may consider doing a swim with the sting rays. I have that scheduled. I did a great deal of research on this and based on feedback on these boards, the two best vendors are Captain Bryan's Buccaneer and Captain Marvin's. In Cozumel, you may consider doing a three reef snorkel and/or dive. We are going to be going out with Eagle Ray Divers. Again, much research done and based on feedback on these boards, I opted to go with Eagle Ray Divers. If you don't want to do a snorkel or dive in Cozumel, you may want to consider Paradise Beach. Enjoy!!!
