cruisinsince75 Posted September 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2006 For you Princess regulars. What does Princess require in the way of deposits?
chrysalis Posted September 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2006 if you book a future cruise while on board, the deposit is 100pp, fully refundable......and occassionally, Princess and some TAs have 100 deposits as a promotion.

If you are not ready to book while onboard, your FCCs can be used when you are ready to book Princess again, and they are good for up to 4 years. If you have not used them by the 4 year mark, or sooner if you decide not to use them, you can get a refund for them. The beauty of FCCs is that 1 FCC per person is all the deposit you have to pay when you do book, whether you book directly with Princess or through a TA. PLUS, when you book using FCCs, you also get onboard credit for the cruise you book using your FCCs. The amount of OBC is determined by the length of the cruise you book. (I believe it is $50 per person for 7-9 days, $100 each for 10-15 days, and $125 each for 16 or more days for an OV cabin, and a little less for an inside.) Sandytoes Posted September 18, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2006 It might depend on the amount of cruise. Our deposit was $450. p/p.
morriscats Posted September 18, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2006 For our 15 day cruise to Hawaii it was $1200.00 for 2. That is the highest deposit we have ever paid. Our roundtrip to Hawaii last year on Celebrity was $900.00 total. Oh well - just less we have to pay later.

Our roundtrip to Hawaii last year on Celebrity was $900.00 total. Oh well - just less we have to pay later. We have had $1200 deposits in the past. Since we now always make sure to have FCC's before booking, it sure makes it easier to not have to turn loose of all those $$$ until much later. Especially when booking a cruise well in advance. JotWorld Posted September 18, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 18, 2006 We Paid $4,000 for the 102 Day Princess World Cruise in 2008:eek: We had no FCC's left & I'm not sure if we could have used them for that anyways? Bill
Toto2Kansas Posted September 18, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 18, 2006 From what I have told, the FCC's are not valid to be used on the World Cruise, so it wouldn't have helped you anyway. Have a great cruise!
phillipahain Posted September 18, 2006 #10 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Yes we too are booked on the World Cruise 2008 and the deposit for everyone is $2000 per person with another amount due in May 2007 You cannot use future cruise deposits for this cruise but then any other companies World Cruise is the same they all require a heavy deposit If you book any cruise outside of the USA the deposit is 10% and its NON refundable Only if you book in the USA can you cancel right up to final payment without penalty
secretcastle Posted September 18, 2006 #11 Share Posted September 18, 2006 We paid $1500.00 for 2 people, for a 16 night Panama Canal Transit for next April. w&gfan Posted September 18, 2006 #13 Share Posted September 18, 2006 I believe the normal deposits depend on the length of the cruise (unless you're able to take advantage of the $100 specials or an FCC). Quoted from their General Information from the Caribbean brochure: A deposit must be received within 24 hours to 3 days of booking depending on the departure date. The per peson deposit required is $250-$450 USD depending on cruise length. For combined cruises, a deposit is required for each segment. Deposits are not required for 3rd or 4th berth passengers. . . . The actual amount is different in various brochures. The Asia and South America brochures say $600-$1500 pp. The Australia, Hawaii & Tahiti brochure says $450-$1500. Europe brochure says $250-$900. Alaska brochure shows $350. Hope this helps. clotheshorse11 Posted September 19, 2006 #16 Share Posted September 19, 2006 We have also paid 250-450 p/p depending on the duration of the cruise. While on the 8/25 sailing on the crown we purchased the future cruise vouchers which entitles us to the 100 p/p deposit. I have a question regarding the use of the friend vouchers for future cruises. I thought that I understood that our friends would be entitled to the 100 p/p deposit and shipboard credit if they booked the same sailing date as us. I spoke to t/a today and she told me that princess only honors the shipboard credit and that friends are required to pay standard deposit amount. does anyone know if this is accurate? :)
dhcoaster Posted September 19, 2006 #17 Share Posted September 19, 2006 My last booking on Princess was a $200.00 per stateroom. I canceled one of those bookings in May 2006 and still have not been refunded the deposit. When I called Princess they said I was credited to my CC. My CC has no record of this credit. Princess is being A*** over this to a point that if they do not do something soon, I will most likely never booked again with Princess!

Call Princess (or have your TA call) and ask that they furnish you with the authorization/refund code for the refund that they say they processed. Then call your bank and have them look up that code. Normally, refunds on cancelled cruises take no more than 6 weeks.

Unless there has been a very, very recent change the "Share the Wealth" coupons allow friends or family to book the same cruise that you are booked on for a reduced $100 pp deposit and receive shipboard credit of between $25 and $150 depending on length of cruise and cabin booked. This credit is only available for the first two passangers in a stateroom We have used this even without giving the code. The Reference Promo Code is WOC.EarmarkZOC. .
