How much would it cost to rent a Limo for 4-5 hours in NY or is there a place where we can store out luggage while we walk around NY till it is boarding time? Thanks NYC, NY arrival that early is great but the ship your leaving on would just be arriving after that and has to clear customs/immigration and disembark the cruise guests as well... boarding the earliest we have had at those piers with preffered check in was .... about 11:30 11:45 am Once on a Tin Can.. The **** ship even with the best suite B2B LOL , and thats a-nother story...they did not even employ the LongShoremen... how in Charles Dickens they got away with that I shall never know... P&O does still manage the Piers too so it was not the management company/.... Renting a limo in NYC for 4-5 hours... well depending upon what type of limo it can run between maybe $80 hr to $800 hr Ask the Cruise Line where you are able to stow your luggage and explore the Subways ... Downtown in the financial district a few churches will be open early in the am too. Having little time your departure may not let you see much so plan the sights wheter it be the churches , parks, libraries, times square Grants Tomb, the Cloisters.. museums etc... almost all are next to subway stops... Buy your Metro Card! One word in NYC take heed. CAUTION!
turia Posted September 18, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Were taking the overnight bus from Montreal so that's why it gets there so early. As for the limo I'd say that a bit to expensive but I'll check with Hal as to where I can stow and then start sightseeing. How far is the port away from ground zero? THe piers on the Hudson River at about 50th are like a 12 minute subway ride downtown with stops included get a express. The Zip Code (Postal Code now since most have Nine Digits) was 10048-0010) Taxi Cabs in NYC are yellow and cost less than Chicago where each passenger has a charge and you pay for waiting in traffic too... But it is Expensive in a cost basis .. The Port of Authority where most buses come in unless your coming down on a charter for HAL .. goes into there.. the INFO desk is a good one and shall help you in the PA (Port of Authority)
turia Posted September 18, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Thanks for the info I think we'll take the subway around as I remember you can get stuck in those cabs for a long while. I used to go to NY a lot but we would always stay around the Astoria area where my husbands family lived we didn't end up in Manhattan as much as I would have liked.
