vincenzo0506 Posted September 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Hello..How much are the photos on board>? 8x10 are $19.95(99?) - watchout for formal night. They only print the 8x10 and you must purchase that before you get any of the smaller copies of the same print. I think the 5x7 are $8 or $9. Watch out for specials from time to time. vincenzo:)
heymom32000 Posted September 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Don't believe the sign that says any copies you make of the picture will have carnival printed all over it. You can contact carnival after your cruise and get permission to print them. Makes nice Christmas cards. I'm thinking for our cruise in 2008 that I'll have my son go around every day and get pictures taken. Then we can decide which ones we want to buy for his senior pictures. Wish I had thought to do this with our son that just graduated 2006 when we cruised in 2005.

bguppies Posted September 18, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Prices went up to $21.99 for an 8X10. I'm sitting here looking at my sign and sail statement from last week's cruise... 9/12/2006 PHOTO GUEST $59.97 for the 3 8X10's we decided to get. So apparently, the price went up on the ship YOU were on, not ALL ships..... My Wife and I both hate to take pictures (professional or personal) so we decided to hit as many photo ops during the week, as we could buy only what we wanted and trash ourselves, what we didn't want. Wound up with 1 of each of us by ourselves and 1 of us together that we liked, so we can finally give our parent's some nice photos of us. Lord knows on Formal Night, there must have been 15 different photo stations set up all over the ship. Plus a handful every other night, plus the obligatory embarkation/debarkation photos in each port. My Wife is, as I type, currently scanning them into her business copier at work and making plenty of copies on photo paper on her high quality office copier. The only Carnival on the photos is on the margins at the bottom of each shot. If you don't have this option and your local photo shop won't make copies, just e-mail Carnival and they'll send you the photo release with no problem. Joopman Posted September 18, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Bill . . . Yes . . . I did only sail on ONE ship last week. That was the price for the ONE ship that I sailed on. It was The Conquest. Am I good to assume that you were NOT on the Conquest?

So apparently, the Conquest (or it's class) is ahead of the pricing curve, or the Conquest photo staff is padding their pockets at $2 a photo.;) Bill

Drew's Wife Posted September 20, 2006 #14 Share Posted September 20, 2006 Recently on the Sensation we were offered pictures for a Vow renewal or if you purchased at least twenty 8 x 10's at a discount of 15 dollars a piece! The pictures turned out really nice, and by the time it was over, my poor husband shelled out for two albums and thirty-eight 8x10's!:D
vincenzo0506 Posted September 20, 2006 #15 Share Posted September 20, 2006 Are Formal night pictures the only ones you have to buy the 8 x 10 of before you can buy the smaller ones? No, anything you find on the wall, is what you have to purchase, before you can get any other size of that photo. So ifthey have a shot of DH with a feather girl in 5x7 and you want a 8x10, you must buy the 5x7 first. Same for the other way around. I only made a point of Formal night becasue they ONLY print 8x10 photos on formal night. If you see anything smaller, I would like to know. vincenzo:)
Traveler353 Posted September 20, 2006 #16 Share Posted September 20, 2006 They end up throwing away thousands of pictures each cruise. Why? Because of their overpriceing. I believe that if the cruise lines would lower the prices that they would sell much more and in the end make more profit. As an aside: the pictures scan and reproduce very well when using a quality photo paper. No hidden marking at all. I am of course not advicating that anyone do this! jame_g Posted September 27, 2006 #17 Share Posted September 27, 2006 Is there a photo package that is usually available? Where you would pay one price and get any photos that you want for the week, or get a certain number of photos over the course of the cruise for a discount off the normal price? Jabee Posted September 27, 2006 #18 Share Posted September 27, 2006 I spent a full seven day cruise, and did not have a SINGLE PICTURE MADE!!! Since I bought stock in the company for the OBC, I felt I was saving the company plenty of money, since I have never bought a single over priced photo... The photogs all got mad when I said...NO...and then walked on. But, I helped save the life of another tree...;) JB
