Arlington22207 Posted September 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Does anyone know a way to view your point totals online? We just received our cards and I created an account...but don't see anywhere that lists the actual points you've accrued. Not an urgent request, of course...just getting antsy to see some progress! I assume points dont' post until the month closes anyway. That's the way other cards I've had have worked.
GoHuskies! Posted September 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Go to website https://www.mbnanetaccess.com/ . I'll give more detail later--I was going to step through the process but at this moment it is down for maintenance, they say. I'm sure you will have to register so that you can get to your account. And you can always calculate the total of points, based on the formula that is used for the card.

GoHuskies! Posted September 18, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Here are a couple of contacts for you, should you ever want to call MBNA about the NCL card. If you just talk to a random rep, they won't know much about the deal--but call 1-800-441-7048, then try Vicki Stansel at extension 24282 or Candy Ewing at extension 26103. They are MBNA people who administer the NCL Compass Rewards program.

judyf Posted September 18, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Great info thanks for posting. Can someone remind me again what the point limits are? How much per month and how much total per year?
CTCruisers Posted September 18, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Great info thanks for posting. Can someone remind me again what the point limits are? How much per month and how much total per year? I think it is 250 points per month and 1,000 points for a year. Make sure to get extra cards and keep track of your points. CTCruisers Posted September 18, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 18, 2006 If you go the MBNA website to check on your account. You have the option to see a snapshot (which gives you the current charges and credit limit availability) and also your statements. The statements will show the points earned. You would have to manually calculate any points earned after the latest statement. You would take your spending for the current period (don't forget to back out the previous balance if it has not been paid off) and multiply it by 3% (4% for any NCL purchases). I created an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of the points earned overall, my points earned for the current year, and also when they expire. GoHuskies! Posted September 18, 2006 #10 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Earning points: Retail purchases anywhere: 3% NCL products and services: 4% (3% + 1%) Maximum earnable: Per month: 250 points (from charges $6,250 NCL only or $8,333 other only) Per year: 1,000 points (from $25,000 NCL only or $33,333 other only) Points accumulate for a maximum of 3 years. If you plan on accumulating more than 1,000 points a year, open a second (or more) NCL credit card.

cruizinwithkids Posted September 18, 2006 #13 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Sadly I'm going to ask one of those stupid questions. I know that no one really knows but does anyone have any opinions on any possible changes to the point system? I am diligently saving points for a cruise in 2008. I am hoping to go to Hawaii or Europe. With MBNA being taken over by BofA and RUMORS of NCL being sold will my points still be usable in 2008? I'm being stupid as I am already booked on two cruises before then, but I want to be able to save a lot of money on a big cruise, versus going "free" on smaller cruises. Don't yell at me, just make me happy by telling me that I'm all set.:D
GoHuskies! Posted September 19, 2006 #14 Share Posted September 19, 2006 I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than I would answer before this, but I'll give it a shot. The bank change should have no effect. We've been assured by the bank that the Rewards program will still be viable and unchanged. And even if they decide to make a change in the future, it should have no effect within the three-year period that is the life of the points. I can't speak to what happens if any sale of the cruiseline takes place, but I can't imagine that they would not honor the points/certificates. There are too many cruise passengers collecting these points to just blow us off without serious repercussions.
Vyhanek Posted September 19, 2006 #15 Share Posted September 19, 2006 I've had this credit card for seven years now. Every few years it does change (for the worse). For example, when we first got our card back then you could accumulate as many points in a month as possible. Also, the points didn't expire after 3 years. I can't remember when they did expire but there used to be no rush to use them ever. Two years ago me and dh had accumulated about 6000 dollars towards a cruise from ONE CARD. So we booked an AC suite for our family of four and cruised for free. I must have said 10 times on that cruise how I was sure NCL was going to find out about us and discontinue this program all together. Seriously I wait fearful of the next *change*. Giantfan13 Posted September 20, 2006 #16 Share Posted September 20, 2006 Not to 'change; the subject, but we had an MBNA card for many years thru ICruise, which, also allowed a $1000 off of any cruise that that offered for basically the same amount of points. I think it was 34,000. We used that for several cruises, but then, out of nowhere, they sent a letter basically saying the program is being changed and for the 34,000 points you will NOW get $400 off. They gave you about 2 months to redeem what points you had acrued or else they would be mustered into the new program. we were lucky at were at a point where we could redeem for something like $800 off a cruise. This program with the NCL card is about the same in that the rewards are similar for the same amount of points. it is one of the best programs out there for amount of rewards for the money you put in. I sure hope MBNA doesn't decide to 'change' this one also because we are sort of in an entry level point and would sure hate to lose what we have already gained. No one really knows and they CAN set new limits anytime they choose.
