Crown and anchor Platinum Status questions

My DH and I just completed our 5th cruise credit. I'm assuming that we will be changed to platinum status sometime soon. We booked a 12 night cruise while on board. Can we still get the savings you get with being a platinum member? Also how much do you get with a suite on a 12 night cruise? Can you also combine the savings with the regular crown and anchor savings certificates? Also does anyone know what type of savings certificates are available for a 12 night cruise in a balcony/suite? Thanks so much for helping me.

I know you get the updated platinum savings. I think it's $200 per cabin for a 12 day. You can combine the platinum saving with the coupon. I can't help you with the certificates. Try the crown and anchor website. Congrats..

First of all, as soon as you paid for your 5th cruise, you were qualified for Platinum and all the perks. You will/should still get the savings you get with being a platinum member.

If I remember correctly, I think you get $100 (maybe $150) cabin credit towards your cruise. - - you also can add the discount for the coupons. For 12-day, I think usually $175 per cabin.

Also, when you get onboard, you'll recieve the coupon books that are worth $$$ onboard.

Hope this helps.

We just completed a cruise and qualified for platinum. Info on this board said that we would be platinum after we completed the cruise not after we paid in full. We had gold C and A coupons in our room not platinum.

Yes' date=' I believe that is correct. :) That's how it worked for us too.[/font']

Sorry, I misspoke... I meant that your status for you "NEXT" cruise became platinum as soon as you paid for your 5th. I didn't mean to imply that your 5th cruise would be platinum.

Thanks for straightening this out.

Yes, you gain Platinum status upon completion of the cruise, not when you pay for it.

The OBC for booking a new cruise while onboard another cruise is unrelated to C&A status or cabin category. Anyone who books a cruise while onboard another gets the OBC (from $50 to somewhere around $200, depending only on length of cruise).

Platinum/Diamond members get a Platinum/Diamond discount for booking a balcony cabin or higher. I believe it's $100 (per cabin, I think, not per person) for Platinum for a 7 night; I don't know if length of cruise affects the balcony discount, but you can check on the C&A website. Yes, you can get it applied to the cruise you booked onboard, just call C&A and have them check your membership; then ask them to apply the balcony discount to your booked cruise.

Yes, you can combine the Platinum balcony discount with any regular C&A coupons. If you're asking what regular C&A coupons (certificates) are available for a 12-night in a suite, you have to check the available coupons. They are not fleetwide and are not for every cruise date. (You probably already know that since you've been a C&A member for a while, but I can't think of any other "certificates" that would apply. You don't get cruise certificates just for being Platinum. I believe though that the regular C&A coupons will be of higher value. You would need to check the current online coupons.)

As a Platinum member, you get better onboard coupons and (I think) priority boarding, as well as a separate Platinum/Diamond event onboard (in addition to the regular C&A party).

Hope that clears it up a bit.

Thanks everyone for the info....We booked a RFS on a 12 nighter so we also got $200 on board credit along with getting 3 crown and anchor points, so we will be only 2 credits away from diamond which is awesome. Now finding out all of these extra discounts and parties, this is great . Thanks so much everyone!!!

Do you get special debarkation if you're a platinum member and booked in a suite (Grand Suite)?
I don't know about that but Platinum members do have access to a "private" debarkation lounge to hang out in until your color is called. On our recent Radiance cruise (our first as Platinum) it was in the corner of the dining room and there was coffee, juice, water and sweet rolls available. It was nice. And quiet. And not crowded. :) We got an "inviation" (letter left by the cabin steward) on the last night of the cruise.
