We are on the Sensation in a little over a week and we are wondering what channels do they have on the room T.V.'s?? I know you shouldn't spend much time in your room on a cruise (espically watching T.V) BUT we like to watch just before bed AND when we wre getting ready for dinner.

I think I read somewhere you can't get any channels and that the TV is just for showing you what is going on on the ship.....

I also wondered about that and does carnival have the channel with nice music in the background, as it shows the ships cam?? thanks! Nice for atmosphere, when you wanna hang out and read, or...whatever;)

There were a few movies showing per day on a couple of different channels - listed in Capers. There were some for adults and some more for children. I watched some of those before going to sleep. There was also a channel that the highlight video taken on the cruise was shown on as well as the shopping talk, talent shows, etc. There were some other channels but I don't really remember what they were maybe someone else can help.

Just got off the Sensation a week ago tommorrow.:(

(I am having Cruise withdrawl already)

The TV selection on the Sensation is poor. (you can disregard the TV that people from the bigger boats report, because the Sensation does't have the free movies, music channels, check your sign and sail account channel or anything the newer ships have)

You get the Denver NBC and CBS for sure. I know you don't get any FOX and I forget if there was ABC or not. It was the week before any shows premiered except FOX which you definitely don't get.

You get a channel that plays Carnival commercials and how to use your sign and sail card in the casino tutorial, 24 hours a day.

A channel that replays embarkation talk, shopping excursion talk, some onboard games (newlywed game, etc.)It replays the same 2 or 3 videos from the previous day, over and over all day.

The channel my wife and I pretty much left on 24 hours a day was TNT LA, which I guess was Latin TNT. Showed some TNT shows like the Closer, some Sci-FI shows like last seasons Battlestar Galactica and alot of movies that have any latin actor in them. (every other ad for upcoming movie seemed to have J-Lo in it.)

Always seemed to have a decent enough movie on as we passed in and out each day.

You also get a CNN, a couple of latin news channels and a few I forget.

I think there was a cartoon channel also, which we skipped by every day.

Maybe 15 channels total, not counting the Carnival channels.

No daily movie as you'll hear about on other ships.

No PPV movies. (which @ $8.95 each I doubt I'd get desperate enough for anyway.)

They did play the DaVinci Code one afternoon (Tuesday in Nassau if I remember correctly) in the Plaza Lounge all the way AFT on the Promenade deck.

The Polo lounge right before the Plaza lounge also get ESPN desportes if you want to catch MNF or alot of soccer every afternoon.

I'd say the TV selection on the Sensation was the ONLY minor dissapointment on the ship.

But everything else being so good, totally overcame that minor issue.

Hope that helps.

Bill

Yes, one is soft rock and the other is classical. I need to write Carnival and tell them to add what the Cruise Director is say on one of those channels, I have to keep opening to door to hear what he has to say. The only thing that comes into the cabins are Emergency Calls like for the Muster Drill etc.

Thats a good idea, having the anouncements put on one of the channels, i get really tired of running to the door everytime i want to hear an anouncement.

Thanks Fred, I am so glad they have the music/cam station, we LOVED it for atmosphere and a drink on deck. Yea, they NEED to have the announcements piped in room/TV, when we went on Princess, they had that, it was awesome! Nature talks, annoucements, etc. All while you lay on your butt and listen!:D
