All inclusive cruise

There are some--but they are a bit more "upscale" and costly! If you're a big drinker, then it's probably worth it--but if you only drink, say, 5 drinks a day between 2 people, then you're better off paying as you go!

On the upside, the food will be much better on these more expensive cruises. The downside is they are a little more "reserved" and formal than the mainstream cruise lines!

Silverseas does now. 10-15 years ago, you could purchase drink packages on Carnival and RCCL for a flat fee for the week. It's been so long I forget what the exact price was but something like $250 for the week. It was like buying a softdrink pass. This was prior to the drink coupons they had.

I took a 2 day cruise to nowhere with Carnival back in Oct of 2001 and the alcohol was included then.

I also went on that cruise. I think I got to go on one more all inclusive one before they decided to charge for drinks. What a bummer. I guess it was all those people throwing up in the bathrooms that stopped that.

I was probably with you on this one out of Norfolk- after waiting for hours to get on the ship we were all ready for a drink- then another- then another....... It was definitely a great weekend-

I heard Carnival still does the 2 day CTNW, but they do not offer the open bar.:(

Yes, Carnival still offers that out of Norfolk, but we found out, after 2 or 3 all inclusive, that they do not do that anymore. We were slightly upset, because no one told us that until we were getting everything in order to get on the ship. After a long line, and mouths watering for those drinks, we were not too happy that they changed it. Funny thing is that the price did not go down....I believe it had actually gone up.

Did you go out of Norfolk when you went? I think they are going to make it a better port for cruise ships. I am hoping, because I hate to fly. I would love to just have to drive 15 minutes to the ship.
