Live from Crown Princess 9-21

I take it that you worked on the crown when I was on that cruise. I was on the 9/3 sailing. I took a picture of cameron and wanted to email it to him. I think it s cool to be penpals with different people.:)

Can anyone tell me if the piano - singer Maurizio is still on the Crown.

Just got off the Crown and sitting at LGA for our flight back to Kansas.

 

We had an absolutely wonderful time. This was our first cruise. We were worried about my wife being 5 months pregnant - but the entire staff was very accommodating to her needs and special situation

 

The three production shows were the best part of the entire trip - we saw all three multiple times. The singers and dancers great and the sets are excellent too. Get there early to get good seats. I overheard several passengers say the shows were Broadway quality - but since I've never been to a Broadway show - it can say that. But I can say they are the best shows I've seen - and they blew anything away that I've paid to see in places like Branson, MO. When not performing, the singers and dancers were very personable and friendly around the ship.

 

The other shows were good to - the comedians were entertaining - Sarge was a riot. The Cruise Staff was very friendly, keeping us busy, and made sure we were having a good time. I even had a fun time playing Hold 'em in the casino (and didn't loose too much).

 

The rest of the staff was extremely friendly and got to know you quickly if you visited there area frequently. Several of the staff began to recognize us as 'regulars' and treated us like family.

 

The Crown Grill and Sabitini's are delightful places to eat and well worth the small cover charge. We only did the dinning rooms (anytime dining) during formal nights. Lobster night was the best! Other meals were in the buffets and were good as well. I also saw some post about Adagio next to Sabitini's - and that is the best kept secret on the ship. They have exclusive drinks (like Sorbetto) and it was always quiet and intimate in there.

 

I did the Coke card and my wife did the coffee card and they worked out great. Also got on-line using my wireless laptop connection for a little while - only $0.35 per minute.

 

The only excursion we did was the Sting Ray tour in Grand Turk. It was awesome and the snorkeling was great too - especially for some landlocked country people from Kansas. I even tried the raw Conch that the tour guide plucked straight from the sea bed. The sting rays were so graceful to watch and interact with. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanted to be in the water and watch the sea life.

 

We also spent some time on Horseshoe Bay in Bermuda, walked to the fort in San Juan, and rode the cable car up the mountain in St. Thomas.

 

My only disappointment about the Crown is that the gift shop didn't have any good toy ships to take back to my toddler son at home.

 

We had a great time and can't wait to cruise again.

yup....in white rock bc right now back at home, livin la vida loca....or...relaxa... or....whatever you would say hahahaha.... just waiting to hear what ship i go on next...probably november :) i think i might actually request the crown again hahahahaha i loved that ship (with a few moments here and there i would gladly replace hahaha)

Someone I know who had been on the Navigator of the Seas this past week and saw the Crown in one of the ports said that it went dark for about 10-15 minutes... lost all power... did this happen? if so why haven't I read anything about it here? it sounds like it might just be someone's fiction...:rolleyes: just wondering...

Esther, I remember reading on one of the "Live" postings that the ship did lose power one day. I was true!

We also just got off the Crown. Loved the ship. Only downside was the debardation. It seemed like half the ship carried off their own luggage. Took well over an hour just for that. We had Aqua color and did not get called until after 9 AM when they had started before 8 AM. Aqua is one of the first groups. The nave or directs were 7 or 8 sub groups.

Then the luggage and immigration area is a joke. Total chaos. No real set way to go. Once we found our luggage we had to cross back over where other passengers were trying to find their's. It was just bodies all over. The immigration folks were telling US citizens to get in Non US lines, then when they got far they had to change direction. Fortunately we were not one of them. The line move slow until they opened more booths.

A minor problem, all things considered.

Getting a taxi was easy, waited no more than a minute.

From where I was standing in San Juan - looking straight down the bow of the ship from the dock - the power cut out for a few seconds - no where close to 15 minutes. Those were the external lights and bridge lights and such. I can't speak for interior lights and other systems inside the ship.

 

 

Immagation was very slow - with less than half the Immagration lines open when I left the ship before 9:00 AM.

I was in the dining room at the time the power went out on the entire ship. It was only a minute or two at the most.

Maurizo left the Crown on Aug. 7 and is back on the Golden....
