Dining Near Doubletree Grand Miami??

Flying in and thinking of dinner. I know there are restaurants in the hotel and a deli. Will not have car. Is our best bet eating at the hotel or do you have a suggestion for somewhere nearby (walk) that would be okay in the evening? Maybe a local has eaten at the hotel and has a preference?

Thanks as always for your advice.

I don't suggest walking at night in that area, not that you are in a bad neighborhood, but nothing is close enough to walk and if you did walk you would pass some grim areas. YOur best bet is to catch a cab to Bayside Marketplace where there is a plethora of reataurants to eat, its a very short ride and shouldn't be expensive:

I don't suggest to take the metromover either, as a local I tend to stay away from the metromover at night as it really doesn't feel safe.

IF you want to venture beyond Bayside about 5 minutes south is Brickell where you can choose to eat at PF Changs, Archie's Gourmet Pizza, Novecento, La Provincial (French cuisine), Perricone's, Sushi Siam, Porcao (Brazilian churrasqeria). Most of these restaurants have websites, just look for the downtown or Brickell location.

There are several restuarants onsite of the Grand...but it might be a bit pricey depending on what your wallet's like =)

Thanks Lmondrop.

Bayside or the Grand it is then. You are always so helpful on here.

By the way, I used to love those lemon drops you could get in a box at the theaters. They had a granulated sugar coating. They just don't taste like the used to... And I am not THAT old!

Why are you Lmondrop?

Thanks again for the info.

Ha Ha Ha!

Have to tell you Lmondrop that I am having a luau this Saturday for friends. Son in college was home and he was asking what all we were having. I felt really out of touch when he mentioned jell-o shooters and I told him they would not be there as I have no idea how to make them!!!! I guess I am a little older than I realized...

Thanks again for your help.

Jello Shots are real easy to make! Here is a recipe so you can pleasantly surprise him :D

http://www.drinksmixer.com/drink586.html MAke sure to get the little Paper cups like the ones you use at Burger King to Pump Ketchup into them and put the jello shots in there after you make them....Good luck!!
