Fuzzzy Posted September 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2006 Hello. I am thinking about going on a B2B and I am wondering how that might effect my points moving up the Captian's Circle from Platinum to Elite. Do I need to book 2 seperate cruises and leave the ship and reboard? Or, can I stay onboard and get credit for 2 cruises? Thanks :)

Toto2Kansas Posted September 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 27, 2006 If you are booking a back to back on the same ship, say two 7 day cruises, you will have to book them seperately. Which will also mean two deposits for each passenger. Yes, you will receive credit for two cruises when booking a back to back cruise. Just a note, if you use FCC's (future cruise credits) for each of these sailings, you will also get the shipboard credit for each cruise, based on the length of the cruise and cabin type booked. Lynda90 Posted September 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 27, 2006 You will be booking two separate cruises and they will count as two whether you have to get off the ship or not. You will always have to get off to activate your new cruise card which you will be given the night before. You will use your old card to leave and your new one to get back on. Fuzzzy Posted September 27, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted September 27, 2006 Thank you everyone. Good informative news. A follow up question though about the getting on and off between the two cruises. Will I have to pack and stand back in line to check into the second ship to get my paperwork in order, get my stateroom card, etc?
Rare Coral Posted September 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 27, 2006 Thank you everyone. Good informative news. A follow up question though about the getting on and off between the two cruises. Will I have to pack and stand back in line to check into the second ship to get my paperwork in order, get my stateroom card, etc? No - Princess makes this really easy. Though it also depends on the port in which is your turn around day. If you have the same cabin - you can leave all of your items in the same cabin. If you have to switch cabins - someone will assist you in moving your luggage between the two cabins. Your stateroom card for your 2nd cruise will be given to you the day before your first cruise ends and you may be asked to go down to the Purser's Desk and turn in your cruise tickets for your second cruise (we were not asked to do on one, on another we were). As far as getting off - it will be quick and painless. It really depends if you have to do customs and immigration at that port. Sometimes you will do it as a group and other times individually - but it will be easy. IF you let us know which port - we can give you some examples (it really varies - as I was in Alaska and didn't have to do Customs and Immigration). Thanks :) I met a couple on CB last week who were on the last leg of a B2B and they were told by the Captains Circle rep that it counted as 1 credit. They were given a new card after week 1.I spoke to an officer who said it should be 2 credits if the booking #'s were different.I don't know if that was the case. The CC rep had a bit of an attitude when I asked her a simple question so maybe she was giving bad information. The Caribbean Princess can often be booked as (1) 14 night cruise or (2) 7 night cruises. Just get 2 booking numbers and link them and you will be ok. SingerEsq Posted October 3, 2006 #10 Share Posted October 3, 2006 The CC rep had a bit of an attitude when I asked her a simple question so maybe she was giving bad information. The CC rep. too? We were on the CB last week as well, and we thought maybe it was just us, but we found several cruise staff with attitudes (like Kristy, the shopping person). She pretty much scolded us (and not in a joking way) for not coming to her presentation as our question was answered there. I was not really interested in sitting for an hour to her full presentation (which was repeated endless on the tv). We also had a run in with not 1 but 2 photography staff. However, the manager of photography, Charlene, was great. Jacqui (cruise staff) was also wonderful, so I guess it was hit and miss. Pardon me, did not mean to divert the discussion regarding Captains Circle.
