Kerry's Girls Posted September 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2006 Hi - I'm being picked up in San Pedro, so I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what time those without flights to catch have been getting off the Diamond? I'll use the cell and call that day, but I'd love to give them some idea of timing. Thanks in advance. Best, Mia
Pam in CA Posted September 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2006 If I were being picked up, I'd tell my friends 9:30 or 10:00AM. You never know exactly what time the ship will be cleared for disembarkation or how long it'll take you to go through Immigration. I'd relax and enjoy my breakfast before disembarking. FredS Posted September 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2006 Depends on your luggage. If you can handle your own luggage then you can be first off. We docked a couple of weeks ago about 6AM and were off by 7:30AM. We actually took a cab to the Avis office in Long Beach to pick up a car and we got there at 7:55, had to wait for them to open the office. It was about a 15-20 ride, about $20 cab fare. We each had 1 wheeled suitcase and a small briefcase with over-the-shoulder strap to take off. IF you decided to take your own luggage off there is no help from Princess staff!! You must do it all yourself so if you have quite a bit of luggage or cannot handle all your own luggage then this would probably not work for you. Looking at what Princess gave us for disembarkation groups, those NOT taking their own luggage off were due to disembark between 9:30AM and 10:40AM. Aloha deck was first, then Baja, then Caribe, etc. This time was for those with independent arrangements and want Princess Staff to unload their luggage. skarletohara Posted September 30, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2006 We drove to the port in March and were among the last to leave ship, about 10:30, but the week after us disembarkation was delayed by an additional hour or two. Every six weeks the crew has to go through an inspection too.
