Take this as gospel from a life-long New Englander: Sept/Oct weather is better than May/June.

Our Springs tend to be cold/cool and wet. Planting in southern New England is left for Memorial Day weekend---it's much too cold before that.

It can also rain in the Fall, but the tendency is to coolish days with a warm sun. As the leaves turn color it looks bright even on a day when the sun isn't out. It's still cheery-looking.

Don't wait until too late in October, either. Plan to finish off before Columbus Day weekend.

We just returned on Sept. 23. I don't know what the pre-upgrade was like, but the ship appeared to have newer carpeting and the cabin was really nice -- also new carpeting and bedding. Beds were really comfy. Bathroom was dated (yellowy beige, tiled tub/shower), but they would have had to rip everything out to remodel that.

We had great weather -- 60s/low 70s.

Had a problem with towels -- all of them, even the washcloths, had leftover brown stains on them  I sure hope it was the water.....

I agree with Ruth 100% (although it's been raining on and off all day).

We're planning a spring trip in late May next year, but only because we spend every Columbus Day weekend on the Southern Maine Coast. Otherwise, we would opt for an Autumn cruise.
