mortysmama Posted October 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Denise....Thank you for the 'heads up'. Any show that is done on a ship I automatically watch. A few years ago we took a cruise on the Westerdam in the Caribbean. It was a lovely vacation but not one of my most memorable cruises....until very shortly after that cruise, the Movie "Out to Sea" came out and it was filmed on the Westerdam. It was such fun watching it because the memories of our vacation were so recent. Again...thank you for the reminder. Happy cruising!

Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted October 5, 2006 #11 Share Posted October 5, 2006 What a beautiful ship the Sapphire Princess is! Watching the Biggest Loser group race around that ship made me long to cruise. I've never been on a Princess cruise. There should be a TV show "Cruising with the Stars" in which ordinary cruisers are paired with celebrities. Each day of the cruise the pairs have to compete in some typical cruise game such as Bingo or the horse race or sexy legs, etc. Just kidding. Lynda90 Posted October 5, 2006 #14 Share Posted October 5, 2006 I enjoyed revisiting the Sapphire. Wished they would have shown more of the ship.
vickie_bernie Posted October 5, 2006 #15 Share Posted October 5, 2006 saw it too -- beautiful ship. I missed the first few minutes did they saw where they were sailing from and to? It looked like they sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge? What port were they in when they did the challenge? Gee I wished they would of shown more of the ship -- I too think a show based on a cruise ship would be something I would watch.
Fuzzyape Posted October 5, 2006 #16 Share Posted October 5, 2006 I did not recall that they mentioned where they cruised to. I was disappointed that it was shown in standard definition instead of widescreen high definition. That would have been spectacular.

The people from "The Biggest Loser" were on the ship in LA, San Diego, Catalina and they got off the ship the day in San Francisco. I believe the challenge/room service delivery was done in Catalina. What about a weekly prime time show about a cruise ship and call it...hmmm let's see...."the Love Boat"?
hillslife Posted October 5, 2006 #20 Share Posted October 5, 2006 Thanks for the clarification.....it looked like the ship was pretty empty so I didn't realize there were actually paying passengers on board also. Were you able to watch any of the tapings or get any kind of perks for being involved in the taping and inconvenience of it all??? Also the losing Blue Team didn't get to spend time with their relatives - so where did they go? Were they actually taken off the ship in Catalina? Cruisin' Chick Posted October 6, 2006 #24 Share Posted October 6, 2006 So if the show contestants and production crew got off before Vancouver, who paid the PSA/Jones Act fines?
joand452 Posted October 6, 2006 #25 Share Posted October 6, 2006 Was this the repositioning cruise before the Alaska season? We were on one of the first Alaska cruises (southbound). I loved seeing the ship again--kept saying, "I've been there!" How did they get the real passengers to stay away? It looked so empty! Just makes me even more anxious for our next cruise...
