new westin hotel at dawn beach

we have points for free hotel stays in westin hotels. last year while driving around we saw a westin hotel at dawn beach under construction. this hotel is taking reservations, so i assume it is open. has anyone checked out this new hotel; if so what are your thoughts. we plan on staying there in 2008. we were planning on renting a car to check out the hotel and then driving over to dawn beach. is the dawn beach area still a quaint area with local charm, or has this new complex completely changed the whole area.

The Westin is FAR from being ready to open, but you're probably ok for 2008.

Has the Westin changed Dawn Beach forever, yes.

 

Thankfully, our Ms. B's on the other end of Dawn is still ok, even after being encroached upon by some private villas.

thanks for that great thread. we came upon thisconstruction site last year quite by accident and it looked like it would have a major impact on the area. this type of politics of zoning and re-zoning is the same everywhere. money definitely talks!!
