Jean Lafitte Posted October 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2006 Was just wondering which nights were the formal nights on NOORDAM out of NYC, and which nights were Semi-Formal? Itinerary is bacially departure day, followed by two days at sea followed by five or six port days in a row, followed by two days at sea. I am hoping the formal nights are duing the sea days, as coming back from a day long excursion tired and sunburned only to have to dress up formal is a real drag (mind you, I do love formal nights). Thanks!

Thanks! Yes Formal nights aboard her are usually sheduled for sea nights. Depending on the length also of the trip. NYC currenly has the ms Moordam IV leaving on 11 as well 12 day ..10 night and 11 night cruises. This link may help you see the pier information as well http://www.nypst.com The main site does have some information as well the phone numbers you can call HAl . Since you list Tortuga as your place of residence then your probably a British subject. Wearing a Kilt, Jean, i do not think is inappropriate also as I have seen them before aboard her and other ships. What shire are you from? Jean Lafitte Posted October 4, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted October 4, 2006 Thanks for the info...Tortuga is a joke....hence the winking smiley....;) Did you see the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean"? (P.S. Jean Laffite is a pirate name also).
RuthC Posted October 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 4, 2006 Perhaps I can help with an answer... This was the breakdown on my 10-day Noordam cruise last March: Wednesday: casual. Thursday: formal. Friday: informal. Saturday: casual. Sunday: casual. Monday: formal. Tuesday: casual. Wednesday: informal. Thursday: formal. Friday: casual. The formal night of a port day was an early departure. Of course, also, this may not be the breakdown on an 11-day cruise.

boards Posted October 5, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 5, 2006 When did Hal start with 3 formal nights. We did a 14 day Southern Caribbean cruise on the Veendam last Nov. and we only had 2. I got information that we will have 3 on the Statendam on our NZ - Aust. cruise. No problem just a little surprised. We always enjoy the formal wear nights.
