Islip to Grand Central Station

Flying into Islip in a couple weeks (not for a cruise, darn it!). The Long Island Railroad takes me to Penn Station but I need to get to Grand Central to take another train further north. Is there anything that goes from Islip to GC? Is the best way from Penn to GC to take a cab?

 

I wish I was cruising instead!!

LIRR only goes to Penn. Cab is easiest, and it's a short trip. You can also do it by bus (M10 on 8th Avenue, transfer to eastbound M42), but it's much slower and a real pain with luggage. Shuttle (or cab) from Islip to LIRR is $5, Penn to GCT probably about the same (depending on traffic delays).
