kml1211 Posted October 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2006 I just got an email that Capt. Andy's is not going to run the dinner Napali sunset cruise that we had booked for Thanksgiving 2006. (I even called to make sure they would run their tours and had been told, YES! Booked and had been confirmed.) I already booked a tour of the Allerton Gardens in the AM as the times worked perfectly (have already paid for that one). What would you guys do with the afternoon from about 12:30 on? We are already doing a helicopter tour the following day. It will be Thanksgiving day, so I know that the shops will most likely be closed. We can't zipline because the youngest doesn't weigh enough. What were your favorite Kauai experiences? KML
spleen93 Posted October 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2006 Thanksgiving day will be hard - you might be best served with going to a beach and hanging out for the afternoon if you can't do your sunset cruise (sorry to hear about that, BTW). Suebee Posted October 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2006 Also sorry to hear about the cruise....There are other sunset cruises...HoloHolo runs in the off season. You can call and ask 335-0815 in the 808 area code. I agree though that Thanksgiving might be tough. Why dont you pick up a copy of the "revealed guide" and explore some of the natural sites...waterfalls, caves, beaches, canyon etc....the things that wont be closed for the holiday. mayfaire Posted October 5, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 5, 2006 my husband and i just went to kauai for a day trip on our last trip home. how about checking out the waimea canyon, kayaking down the wailua river, or just kicking it up on the north shore . . . the beaches by hanalei are beautiful! and try to stop by oki's diner in lihue for the most onolicious macadamia nut pancakes! kml1211 Posted October 6, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted October 6, 2006 Thanks all... I do have the Revealed books- I just thought maybe someone would have a great idea that was new to me. We were going to do the tubing down the ditch originally, but changed our minds when some said it was boring and you don't see any of the scenery. We have a group of three kids (17, 15, &10) two 30-somethings and a 60-something. So, trying to appeal to everyone's tastes can be difficult. But, I want the kids to have fun (And since I am paying for the trip, the other two adults pretty much have to do what I say!!! ). kml
OTRlady Posted October 21, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2006 You might try this. Its fun and no weight limit. Don't know if they run on Thanksgiving tho. If you look at the small print in the left sidebar, you will find that there is a weight limit for both excursions.
