Mexican Rivera (Pride) Shore excursions

Hi, we cruised for the first time in July on the Pride, and loved it! Due to unfortunatate weather we were not able to enjoy the shore excursions we signed up for. We are planning another cruise in June 07 on the same ship, same place but are bringing our kids ages 12-17. Can anyone recommend shore excursions that would be enjoyed by all of us? Thanks!!

Hi HarleyGirl!

If you go to Puerto Vallarta...you have GOT TO DO THE CANOPY TOUR De Los Veranos!! I just got off the Pride this past Sunday. We had HOT weather but it was BEAUTIFUL!

The Zip Lines WERE AMAZING and I booked directly through them for $71 dollars.

In Mazatlan we did the Beach/Shopping/Lunch tour for $49. TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT!

In Cabo we did the SNUBA which was fun and the waters were beautiful. Plus we rented a glass bottom boat right off the dock when we got there for $10 bucks each (there were four of us). Well, worth it too!

Good luck choosing your excursions..thats a bummer you didnt get to do yours..

DON'T MISS THE ZIP LINES!! Your Kids will LOVE IT TOO! I can't wait to take my husband and sons there!

If you'd like more info on the site or something...you can email me at Jbags58@aol.com. I can send pics too!

We were on the Pride in July(16th-23rd) as well. We had a lovely time on all of our excursions. For PV we did the day sail/snorkel. If you don't mind getting off the cruise ship and then onto another boat then do it. The excursion was great and was a nice way to relax, catch some sun, see some sea life, and do a little swimming/snorkeling all in one. In Mazatlan we did a tour with Mazatlan Frank. I can't say enough about how great his tour was. He is very attentive to your needs and is very perosnable and friendly. Cabo we did the glass bottom boat thing and then just shopped around for a little.

I also did the canopy tour with my husband when we stopped at Puerto Vallarta...I was scared at first, but it was seriously one of the most fun things I have ever done.

I have heard quite a few mentions of Randi's Happy Horses, and I definitely will look into that one! How soon do you think that would need to be booked? We don't leave until June 07.

And we are definitely looking into the zip line tour as well. That seems to be a popular one. On our last cruise I heard lots of people talking about it.

Thanks and look forward to more feedback!!

Hi Jbags... is the snuba the same as the power snorkels? I was wondering if the water was clear enough to see a lot of fish. Also was it very cold?? We are going in November and being from Florida originally and then Arizona, I can't take the cold.

Thanks,

Holly

We cruised the Pride at the end of March 2 years ago. We did a snorkel tour in Cabo, and yes the water was COLD. I loved the tour, loved snorkeling, but the water was absolutely FREEZING. I'm pretty tough, but it was definitely very very cold. I didn't care, though! I had the time of my life in that water (not too many fish to see ~ nothing like the Caribbean).

Randi's Happy Horses have always gotten excellent reviews on this board. Head on over to the Mazatlan port of call board, and she posts there a lot. We didn't do that tour because we are ranchers and to us, riding horses is work, not play! ;)

We did a beach day in Mazatlan and the water was nice and warm. :)

Go with Randi's Happy horses in Mazatlan. It's the best!

In Cabo we did the ATV ride. It was my first time on one and I had a great time!

In PV we did the 4 hour hike in the hills, which was fun but very grueling. I wouldn't do it again. Afterwards we went to the Krystal Hotel by the ship and used their pool and had Pina Coladas!

Just a warning - This will probably be moved to the "Ports of Call Mexican Riviera" section. We did the following:

De Los Veranos Canopy tour in PV - loved it!!!!

Randi's Happy Horses in Mazatlan (our 2nd time!) - loved it!!!!

Caught a $15 glass bottom boat ride around the rock formations in Cabo then walked into town and had margaritas in Cabo Wabo - loved it!!!!

Click the link below to see pictures of all the excursions. They are in the albums (by city) - we had an absolute BLAST! :D
