RealDeal Posted October 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2006 Tried to post this in the Hotels Forum, but it looks like it's closed. I've been reading about people bidding on specific hotels. I was under the impression that with Priceline you are only guaranteed a certain type of hotel, not a specific property. Is there another site where you can bid on a specific hotel? LHT28 Posted October 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2006 You might read through this forum it may help http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=412923 I am not sure if you bid on Hotwire.com or just book the "star rating" you want and then they tell you the property you have gotten. http://www.biddingfortravel.com people post what hotel they got for the "star rating" they chose. However once you book it you are locked in no refunds or changes. I have not tried them yet as we are not going till Jan.
CRUZFOOLS Posted October 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2006 Read biddingfortravel.com carefully. Check out the list of hotels in each star rating. If for instance, there are 5 hotels in the 4* area that you want then do research on all of these (tripadvisor.com). If all 5 hotels seem fine to you then bid on that 4*. If your bid is accepted you will end up with one of the 5. You can bid once a day for each star & area that you pick. If you are also satisfied with the hotels in the 3* then you would first bid 4* and then 3*. That way you will get to put in 2 bids on the same day. Hope this helps
