Sharman2004 Posted October 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2006 We are leaving tomorrow on the Vision and I did my online check-in earlier this afternoon but couldn't print my documents at the time. I just went back in to print and it says that the "Online Check-in for your reservation is currently unavailable, please try again soon". Do they shut down online check in within a certain amount of time from the cruise? If so, is this going to hold us up a lot at the terminal tomorrow??? Also, since I did actually check in, just couldn't print, will RCCL still be able to pull up my info in their computer or should I fill out what they give us in the docs?
PhoenixCruiser Posted October 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2006 I think I read that the deadline is either 24 or 48 hours in advance, sorry! It will take a bit longer, however we all had to go through that before they started Online check-in. Hope you have a great cruise :D ###
gambler Posted October 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2006 check again later or tomorrow morning, their site is usually down for maintenance on Saturday nights. Everything is entered so you should be fine.
cb at sea Posted October 8, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2006 Even if you are unable to do this online, it will still only take a few minutes longer at the check-in counter! Don't stress! Did you get your docs by mail? If so, the exact same form is in the document booklet--fill it out and take it with you, to speed things up a bit! Bon Voyage! PhoenixCruiser Posted October 8, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 8, 2006 Yup, it says it right there, it's taken down 24 hours before departure! OH NO!!! Well, all my stuff is in their computer, I hope that will help. I wan't able to print the SeaPass...I'm assuming this is the boarding pass?? I can see how confusing this is. To check-in for a flight you have to wait until 24 to 36 (differs) hours before hand. To check-in for a cruise you have to do it 24-48 hours before you board! I so much feel for the first-time cruisers  ###
BearySweet2Cruise Posted October 8, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 8, 2006 I always do my online registration when I make the reservation months or even a year (+) in advance.. I cannot print the setsail until closer to departure, but I complete the forms right after making the reservation. I usually get an email about 3 weeks before sailing that says "your sea pass is ready to print". You will have no trouble at all if you cannot print it before you leave, just check in the AM before you leave and the maintainance should be completed. Have a great time and do not worry about this..it is not a big deal. Take your reservation confirmation paperwork with you though, and if you do not yet have a passport, DO NOT forget your Driver license and birth certificates in the midst of the confusion of getting ready to go in the morning. Happy sailing :)

Well, all my stuff is in their computer, I hope that will help. I wan't able to print the SeaPass...I'm assuming this is the boarding pass?? You are quite right about SeaPass being kind of a boarding pass, but you can´t print out that one anyway. Doing the online Check-in you print out the SetSail NOT SeaPass. SetSail is what you need for check-in to enable the agent to get to your entered information. It has a barcode on it. They scan the barcode and all your online information comes up. However if you don´t have that you can just check-in the "traditional way" before SetSail came up. Make sure you have the papers ready and signed that are included in your documents. It´s not a big deal. The SeaPass is your boarding pass, room key and charge card onboard.
AFT_LOVER Posted October 8, 2006 #10 Share Posted October 8, 2006 as someone posted already, there is a page in your doc book that askes for credit card info & signatures of everyone using the Set Sail Pass (onboard charge card, room key, ID). Just fill that out & you will be just fine........... Have a great cruise, as we will be doing it on Freedom next Sunday. Now when you get home, remember to print out everything months in advance not the day before. I make the reservation, enter our info into the onboard check in area. Then I print out the Set Sail. So a year in advance I am ready to go. A few times RCCL has something wrong that I cannot print as yet that they will email me when I can, such as our June 18 Jewel Norwegian Fjords cruise. But Sept '07 Alaska I have. WEIRD!
madforcruising Posted October 8, 2006 #11 Share Posted October 8, 2006 Set Sail Pass (onboard charge card, room key, ID). Again the Set Sail Pass is NOT the same as the SeaPass card !!! Sea Pass card is your onboard charge card, room key, ID for boarding !!! Set Sail Pass is the page with a bar code on it that you print out after completing the online check-in. You need the cruise docs or the SetSail to check-in and get the SeaPass card!!!

I incorrectly typed that at nearly 3 am  but still no worries, it can be done at the pier if you canot print it out:)
