seahorse Posted October 8, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2006 Awesome thanks so much...we just love jeans when we relax, and we weren't sure!! Don`t listen to Mr. T:( it does say it in the new literature. Go to the formal short thread and you will see. NO JEANS IN THE DINING ROOMS EXCEPT SAILING OUT OF TEXAS:) You can wear jeans anywhere else;)
Pisti Posted October 8, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2006 Read the Formal Shorts post a few ahead of yours on the board. You'll get a better idea of what's up.
uneamie Posted October 8, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 8, 2006 HELP...can we wear jeans??? It's our first cruise and it's our honeymoon??HELP!! Don't fall for NCL's "Come As You Are" slogan . It has a lot of holes in it. It's "Come As You Are" as long as you are not dressed in a bathing suite, PJ's, jeans, T-shirts, flip flops, underware, thongs, shorts, just a hat, or your birthday suite. ;)
Cruisin' Patty Posted October 8, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 8, 2006 It may say no jeans in the dining room, BUT, a good third of men and women (and teens) have them on. It is free style. We dress CASUAL ALL the time.
cruiserssandr Posted October 8, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 8, 2006 We just got off the Majesty today and it does say right outside the dining rooms NO JEANS, however we did see a few people with jeans on at dinner. Jeans are fine in the dining room before 5:30.
MrLee Posted October 8, 2006 #9 Share Posted October 8, 2006 I returned from the Dream trans-atlantic cruise yesterday. I followed the advice of those who posted about dress codes here and, on the first formal night there may have ben as many as a dozen of us who were not wearing at least a dark suit (several tuxs). Fortunately I did bring a suit "just in case" for the other formal nights. :o
johnql Posted October 8, 2006 #10 Share Posted October 8, 2006 It may say no jeans in the dining room' date=' BUT, a good third of men and women (and teens) have them on. It is free style. We dress CASUAL ALL the time.[/quote']A good third? That's definitely a much higher number than what I've seen on my last 3 Freestyle cruises (all within the last year and a half). Yes, there will be some people wearing jeans, but it's nowhere near a third. Part of the problem with the supposed policy is that it's somewhat inconsistent. The online policy says "no jeans" but on some ships, the posted signage says "no torn jeans". Add to that the Houston exemption and it gets confusing. My advice? Leave the jeans at home and you won't have any problem interpreting the policy.

uneamie Posted October 8, 2006 #13 Share Posted October 8, 2006 UGH!! SO many answers, so many different people...I guess we will just opt for no jeans??? Don't cha just hate that! Take a pair of nice jeans. Then when you get on the ship you can find out for yourself if it's OK to wear them or not. ;)
Toyz711 Posted October 8, 2006 #14 Share Posted October 8, 2006 jeans for breakfast, jeans for lunch, jeans in the buffet anytime...fine and dandy. blue jeans for dinner in any of the main dining rooms...no. DH did wear black denim with a very nice shirt for dinner twice and no one said a word. if you are talking about BLUE jeans, i would say to wear them during the day, then change into something else for dinner. every night we ate at the main dining, most (and i do mean MOST, over 60%) were dress up. i saw more long dresses and black jackets then i have seen in years. i cold not believe how many women with wearing very high, spiked heels when the ship was rocking so much. uneamie Posted October 9, 2006 #15 Share Posted October 9, 2006 jeans for breakfast, jeans for lunch, jeans in the buffet anytime...fine and dandy. blue jeans for dinner in any of the main dining rooms...no.i cold not believe how many women with wearing very high, spiked heels when the ship was rocking so much. As long as they are not "BLUE DENIM" spiked heels they is OK! :D No "BLUE DENIM" thongs either, someone might faint if they should happen to ride up above your dressy pants and become visable....that's a no no! ;)

Terre Posted October 11, 2006 #23 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Every cruise line we've sailed on specifically states in their brochures "no jeans or shorts in the dining rooms after 6:00 p.m" so, that means no jeans at dinner. You can always change into them after dinner.:D
