Scuba lessons in pool?

BillOh

Recommended Posts

Has anyone taken the scuba lessons in the pool? I'm thinking about taking them on one of the sea days or if we skip a port (depending on their schedule) I just want to do it for the experience and have no desire to become certified and I know my wife has no interest. More of a been there, done that kind of thing. This and the rockwall are two things I didn't do on our first cruise. Any comments?

My son took them last year on the Mariner. The classes aren't just a one time (or one day) event. You have to go through some book study before actually getting in the pool. Some of the classes were held very early in the morning on port days. The cost was over $500. I, personally, wouldn't want to pay that much unless I was going to go through the entire process. That being said, he loved the experience!
