Hi, my name is Don my wife Joy and we will be sailing on the Magica the week after Thanksgiving. We live in Tennessee now but were both born in New Jersey. We have been in the south since 1981. It is home to us now. We have been on 2 other Costa ships and loved them both. I am 59 and my wife is 53. We don't drink nor smoke but love to have fun. I just love the activities on the Costa ships. We like the Toga party so much we have our own personally tailored togas. When we were designing them Joy went to the internet and found some examples and then made them. Guess what my toga is like the ones senators wore. Joy should of researched her's better. She wears a prostitutes toga. But who cares we are on vacation and just having fun.

Hope to see you onborad.

My wife and I will be on this cruise as well. We got a suite at a sweet price. Very excited. This is our second Costa cruise in one year. We love the line. Great value for price.

I agree about the value for the price. Some folks complain about Costa but I have never found anything to complain about and this is our 3rd Costa cruise. Sure it isn't a traditional Caribbean cruise but I like what Costa offers. Food isn't American/Italian, (actually I think it is near to true Italian), but it is better than what we get here in the south. From my signature you will see this cruise is our 19th and I can truly say the one we enjoyed the most was our first on Costa on the Victoria.

Hope to see you on board.

The Costa board is so dead. I think it is because it is still in Europe. I want to see some action and some life here! I haven't been able to sleep since I booked my cruise last week! I am that excited. Like a kid at Christmas!

Are Snipboy and us the only two families on the ship. If that is correct I expect to be upgraded to the Owner's Suite, that is if Snipboy hasn't already booked it.

Fess-up are you sailing on this ship the week after Thanksgiving?

We are booked on Costa Magica the end of January 2007 and would sure appreciate some pointers as far as dining is concerned. In the caribbean, what time is late dining? Something tells me it may be later than other traditional cruises we're used to..... and if someone would please enlighten us as to the best way for a newbie to enjoy Costa. Comments on these boards are very informative and much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm sailing on the Magica the week of Thanksgiving for the second time this year, I don't recall the time for late dining as we always do early because of my kids, but it wasn't any later than other cruiseline I've been on. The good thing about the Magica is they serve the exact same thing on the buffet as they do in the main dining room everynight, including filet mignon and lobster tails, so if you want to skip the formal attire and still get the good stuff you can.
