carmel Posted October 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2006 I don't leave until December and I'm having a real tough time waiting - I know, life is about the journey not the destination! But I wanna go on the cruise now. I have made a detailed spreadsheet outlining our shore excursions, flights, etc and have also coordinated outfits for each day. I'm holding off registering online until next week just so I have something to look forward to! I was so spoiled with my 11 nighter in April. Now, 7 nights seems short! I should be ashamed of myself. I'm also dieting like crazy. I've dropped 15lbs and hope to drop another 10 before the cruise. Can someone tell me if there is an observatory on the Vision? I seem to remember reading about it on deck 10 but can't find any info about it. Also, what are some of your favorite items to eat on board. When I feel like cheating on this diet, I think about the reward of feeling better and enjoying delicious food on the cruise! Thanks!!!!:D :D :D
Cruising_Christine Posted October 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Hello Carmel, OMG, I know how you feel. We are going on Rhapsody at the time as you are going on Vision. I'm literally counting seconds till we go. :o This time we sprung for a suite, and I’m really excited. :D I believe that there IS an Observatory on deck 10 forward. Incidentally, what is your secret for losing 15 lb? Because I think I found them.;) Have a great cruise, Christine
lauren0309 Posted October 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2006 I know how you feel. If it will make you feel any better your leaving before me. My cruise isnt until January. I've been waiting for this one since I booked it last November. Each week I do another detail so I have something to do pertaining to my cruise. I 've just about have everything done except to call up and cash in my bonus points on my credit card for onboard credit. Besides that, nothing more else to do except look forward to hearing the mail truck pulling up to my house anticipating that he has my cruise documents on his truck! I still have a little ways to go for that. Enjoy your cruise!
addictedinflorida Posted October 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2006 I'm right there with ya LOL At least you have a much shorter wait! I just got off of the Adventure a little over 4 weeks ago but it seems SOOO much longer! LOL Now I have to wait until March, but the good thing is I am getting ready to book another for May! :D So I have something to look forward to. I just have to keep telling myself to enjoy the suspense because they are here and over with way too soon! The excitement building is part of the fun! :) Have a great cruise! lawsoncd3 Posted October 11, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2006 There was an observatory on Rhapsody. It's not what I thought it was though. It's an outdoor area, up a small few steps, where they have lounge chairs. On Rhapsody, there is a very tall window wall as it were, where I had to stand on tiptoe to see over. But it is forward and if you are on deck 10 of the Rhapsody, just find the three or four stairs. It's circular (the deck) you can't miss it. Enjoy your cruises. I am starting to plan another one for next year just to get over PCD LOL. D :)
jules815 Posted October 11, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2006 I know exactly how you feel. It's dark and dreary in Chicago today, and we already have snow flurries in our forecast for tomorrow! I have to wait until June for our next cruise -- it's going to be LONG winter. :( It's nice to have something to look forward to though. With my business (pet sitter) and kids in school, it's not easy to pick up and go any time of the year. We have to wait for school breaks - and holidays such as spring break, Thanksgiving and Christmas are never option for me because of my business. I met a great group of people months before our June cruise and got to know them before we even met.

Jan_In_Maine Posted October 11, 2006 #9 Share Posted October 11, 2006 I started planning our latest cruise 468 days ago - and we now only hav e 16 days until we leave for FLL - I have spreadsheets of spreadsheets - 3 different packing lists - lists of what is already packed - lists of things to see - lists of wines - lists of M&M people (60 of us), I've lost weight, which meant that I had to have everything resized, almost everything is packed, I have a list at work (oops should be working now!) for things that I must do before I go. I have a notebook that I'm taking with lists of all the ports, hotels, flights, etc. etc. etc. I am so ready to go ... the planning, talking, packing, purchasing, etc. has been fun - but now I'm really getting antsy!!!! Carmel - have a wonderful time on your cruise in December. Jan

I'm excited to see his reaction to the ship. jules815 Posted October 11, 2006 #11 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Sheltie Lady, our next cruise is my husband's gift for his 50th bday. :) He doesn't know, so I can't even talk to him about it! 3 other families (our best friends) are also booked for the cruise, so whenever we're together as a group, we can't chat about it! It's so hard for me, because I love talking about cruising!

adorethesea Posted October 12, 2006 #16 Share Posted October 12, 2006 Oh, I'm so jealous!! I just got off the Vision Sunday and I miss it sooo much already! I don't think there is an observatory on the ship....I was all over it. I did not spend a lot of time on deck 10 however as the previous poster mentioned there may be one there. You will have to go exploring ~ We found our favorite place to get out of the wind and relax quietly was deck 5, aft. There are a few chairs stacked back there and you can position them just right so you can prop your feet up on the railing and and just chill out! My husband and I fell asleep doing this. We were the only one's back there and it was beautiful and peaceful. Have a great trip!
