99florida Posted October 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2006 Has anyone booked through priceline for a 4 star or more hotel? What range did you name your price around? Need to know if there would be a problem getting a room for 2 adults and 2 children. Their site states a garnt. for 2 adults. Would hate to go through the motions and not get a room for the 4 of us. Any insights would be great. Want a nice hotel with a great pool area (slide would be great for the children). Don't need to be on the beach. lovetohavefun Posted October 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2006 I did go through priceline for our hotel in Miami. . I put in a 4 star hotel, downtown and bid 85.00. . . it was accepted and we are booked at the Intercontinental Miami for Sunday November 5, 2006. I called them directly to verify that it would be o.k. for my husband, myself, and two children. They said it was fine and everything was confirmed. We were even able to get a harbor view. Great deal! I say go for it.:) Have a wonderful trip!
99florida Posted October 13, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted October 13, 2006 Thanks for your response! I'm going to give it a try. I just hope that after I commit that we can get a room that will hold the four of us. Especially since one can not get their money back if they can't accomodate us. Keep my finger crossed! Do not bid for hotel rooms on the beach. I can almost guarantee that any room in South Beach will only be large enough for two people. Double/double rooms in South Beach are premium rooms and not standard. Also, make sure that nothing is going on in Miami during your stay. Double/double rooms are very highly desired during conferences and will the first to go. Would I chance it? No and I'm a frequent priceline user. Instead use Hotwire and choose their "4 people in a room" option.
99florida Posted October 13, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted October 13, 2006 WOW! Thanks for the heads up! I am going to check out Hotwire as per your suggestion. That's the last thing I need before going away, a headache due to lack or room. Thanks again!
