booboo4031 Posted October 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2006 Sounds like a cold sore. Go to the store.. cvs, walgreen's, etc... and buy Abreva. It's a very tiny tube about $15 and put it on regularly. It clears it up very quickly.

I guess from the way I described it, it does sound like a cold sore, but I'm pretty sure that's not it. It's not touching my lip - its actually about 1/2" above my lip. It's probably just a plain 'ole pimple.:( Any other suggestions?
CateW Posted October 14, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2006 I can't recall the exact name of the product but it is by Clinique. I put it on about 1/2 hour before a big meeting and it was gone almost instantly. Probably not gone but there is something in this product that took the redness and swelling away. Ehpride Posted October 14, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2006 If it's a zit, go to Wal-mart and get the cheap Equate medicated acne gel. I swear it works better for me than anything else I've ever used. I don't break often anymore but when I do, I put that stuff on any big zits (usually overnight because it's white and I don't want that stuff to show during the day) and it's gone fairly quickly. Don't be afraid to put that stuff on heavy at night. It'll dry and then you can clean it off in the morning. It might not take it all away it two days, but it helps mine to dry out. If it helps I have skin that's a little oily. I can't make any promises for you but it works for me!
LolaWiz Posted October 14, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2006 i have been cursed with bad skin for my whole life, and just up until now my face has been less than perfect. Fortunatly, i have been able to correct years of damage and now, if i get a big one, i learned a secret by my spa "lady": before bed, wash your face normally, then, with a q-tip, apply a dab of pure honey onto the affected area then cover with a bandaid. It works wonders and by morning, it will be healed!

It works wonders and by morning, it will be healed! This sounds similar to my trick. I loved the acne patches that were on the market up until a year or two ago (Neutragena had them, as well as other companies). They disappeared for some reason, so I invented my own cure. I get the salicylic acid gel (clear vs. benzoyl peroxide which is white and very drying) and apply that liberally over the offending area, then put a band-aid on top of it. It is usually significantly reduced the next morning. I wonder if honey has AHAs in it?
4merlurker Posted October 14, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 14, 2006 I find that witchhazel does the trick! ~Connie
stanford's girl Posted October 15, 2006 #9 Share Posted October 15, 2006 My favorite and really cheap method is a model's trick. Just put toothpaste on it. It has to be paste and not the gel kind. My favorite is Colgate. Also to get the red out of a pimple, put Visine on it. Not only will it take the red out of your eyes but it does the same thing for a pimple. But whatever you do, DON'T PICK IT OR SQUEEZE IT!!
