Doc Dance ?

Recommended Posts

We just received our docs today for our upcoming cruise.

I have a few question.

There is a immigration form in the package. Does this need to be filled out or is the one I did on line sufficient?

We did a guarantee and our cruise docs state that, but on line it shows cabin numbers. Should we go ahead and fill out our luggage tags with those cabin numbers.

What time can you normally embark, I know that the docs say 1 but we usually can board earlier.

These are some of the nicest docs I have ever gotten. It will be a shame when it all e-tickets.

Congratulations on getting your docs. Isn't it exciting?

Your on line immigration form is all you need to bring a copy of

If your cabin number is listed that is the number to put on your tags

We have gotten on as early as 10:30am

Don't you just love the pleather packet?

Enjoy your cruise

The on-line form is superior to the paper one because it gets you to the usually-shorter check-in line. (Or I should say the non-suite shorter line.) Forget the paper. :)

It's highly unlikely that you'll get a cabin # change from what shows on-line, but I can't say that it has never happened. Put that # on your luggage tags. If at check-in there's a change the bags can be found.

We've usually been able to board around 11:30 to 12:00, but usually the cabin isn't ready so we go to the Lido and get some lunch, etc. :D

Once you complete your immigration form, and if everything is in order, you can print out your Express Boarding Pass. One sheet of paper for each person printed on both sides. Take that, the credit card authorization form, your passports and a credit card and you're good to board.

Kakalina, your post is time-stamped 8 minutes ahead of mine, yet yours wasn't there when I started to type, and I KNOW I didn't take 8 minutes!

This isn't the first time that has happened to me, and I don't understand it! :)

Even if you are able to start boarding by around 11:30 AM, you can not go directly to your cabin. They will not be ready.

You will be directed to or taken to the Lido to have some lunch. There will be an announcement anytime between 1 and 1:30 that the cabins are ready.

You can also tour the ship until the cabins are ready.

We're departing from our home city of Tampa in November on the Ryndam. We plan to arrive about 1PM so that most of the rush will be over and we *should* be able to get into our stateroom immediately. Although it means standing in line with hords of others, I think of it as exciting - everyone is anxious to get aboard, and check out the ship. In January, we were on the Oosterdam in San Diego and although we stayed in the hotel directly across from the ship, we still arrived before noon and rather enjoyed the slowly moving line waiting to checkin - perhaps we're weird (many of friends say so!) but it's exciting at the same time. Everyone in line is waiting to get aboard and excited. Once aboard, everyone spreads out and it immediately calms down (aside from the feeding frenzy at the Lido!). I look at it as occurring only once during the trip - kind of exciting.

It has nothing to do with when you started to type your post...I believe it has to do with the actual time that you logged on to the particular thread or even the entire board...It could have taken that amount of time for you to read all the posts as well as type & send your post..This is just a theory, but I've often had the same problem of the time warp..

It's can embarrass me because I've said the same exact thing another poster who's post is above mine has said..
