cruisin921 Posted October 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2006 I was wondering if anyone knows which side should have the balcony on to get a great view of the ports when docked? The port side or starboard side? Or does it vary? Please let me know if anyone can shed on knowledge on this. Thanks.
99florida Posted October 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2006 portside gives you the view of the island vs. the ocean view
FrancescaH Posted October 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2006 On the western run the port side tends to have better land views, with the starboard side having more ocean views. The view from the port side of Labadee was gorgeous. We opened the curtains to our balcony that morning and just said WOW!
BigDogCruiser Posted October 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2006 It really depends, but last week on the Mariner Eastern run I had a port side balcony. At CocoCay I had a great view of the ocean (Starboard side say CoCo Cay and they tendered fron the starboard side). In St. Thomas I had a great view of the harbor (starboard side had a great view of the shops in Havensight, we docked on the starboad side) . In St. Maarten I also had a great view of the harbor (starboard side saw the container ship off load area, but we docked on the port side.
