pach Posted October 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2006 with only one parent. I know some travel books have a sample letter, just in case. Does anyone have a copy of it? Daughter has a different last name than me and just want to play it safe;)
WindinmySails Posted October 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2006 Here is a link to a letter you can just print off. I'm traveling with my boys and my husband has to keep working. I heard that no one ever asks for this, but better safe than sorry. http://travelwithkids.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=travelwithkids&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.singleparenttravel.net%2FWriting%2FDocumentation%2F

BearySweet2Cruise Posted October 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2006 Thanks for the link.. It works and is very helpful.I will for the first time have a minor child on board with me that is not my own on the Grad cruise in June. Now back to the question: I sail with just my kids without the dad all the time.. (Dad will not travel with us) and he actually the stepdad... the kids have a different last name due to previous marriage .. As long as we had our ID , we have never been asked for a letter in regards to anything.

Esmerelda Posted October 16, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Have never been asked before as a single mom for any letter (even though I had one). This next time I will have passport so it will be a better situation as I have full custody of my boys (and papers for proof). have a great trip!
