tkcruiser Posted October 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2006 I am cruising NCL for the first time. Leave on the POH 12/28/06. We have booked one of the Courtyard Suites. 3 Questions: 1. Is it necessary to become a Latitude Member 2. What are the benefits 3. How does one become a member Any advice/assistance would be appreciated. robyn525600 Posted October 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Once you sail with NCL, you automatically become a Latitudes member. If you go to NCL.com - they will explain the benefits. Being a Latitudes meber is of no charge to you.
jp2001 Posted October 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2006 You will automatically become a Lattitude member AFTER your first cruise. During your first cruise, you are not entitled to any Lattitude Member benifits (since it's a kind of loyal customer club). Don't worry about it, Lattitude party is nice because they serve free drinks and have a draw for small prizes but is nothing more than that. You do not have to apply or anything and it does not cost anything. Benefits include on board party and discounts. Plus a magazine put out for Latitude members covering various topics. Enjoy your trip.
KnMCruisers Posted October 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 16, 2006 When you are doing pre board there is also a line for Latitude members which is some times faster than the regular line.

Leafpeeper Posted October 16, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 16, 2006 We haven't sailed NCL since 2004, but are thrilled at the discounts we counts on our Feb 2 cruise to Alcapulco.
tkcruiser Posted October 16, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted October 16, 2006 What a great asset this site is. Looking forward to our 12/18 departure and I am sure we'll have a few more questions.
cmdchiefthom Posted October 17, 2006 #9 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Tkcruiser, Aside from the magazine, priority embarkation, a pin and a mid-day cocktail party, there really is no tangible benefit to being a Latitudes member. Most cruiselines offer a past passenger program, but it reality, there's not too much to it. Most of the other offerings are discount cruise fares on hard to fill time slots. The bottom line is, NCL provides a good product, great itineraries and a decent price. So just go ahead and enjoy!:)
