Carnival Legend Balcony?

A quick question for those who might know:

Is there a difference in balcony size between a standard balcony (category 8H) and the extended balcony (category 8I) on the Carnival Legend?

We are booked in a standard balcony on the Panorama deck but have a chance to move to an extended balcony.

The Carnival website lists both categories (8H and 8I) balconies at the same square footage, 40 sq. ft.

The deck plans look like the extended balcony is deeper.

Anyone know if this is true?

Thank you in advance.

There are several threads about the extended balconies on the Spirit Class ships over on the Carnival Message Board. My search feature is funking out on me right now otherwise I would direct you.

I have not sailed the Legend (or any Spirit Class) yet but did a lot of reading when booking my upcoming cruise. In general it sounds as if the extended balconies are a few feet deeper than the standard balcony. The cabins are the same size.

I wish I could direct you to the threads now....you might want to do a search for that and see what you get because I know that there were a few cabins and a certain deck that seemed to not have the same type of view (if looking down at the water is important to you - which it is to me!) as the standard balconies due to the shape of the ship and placement of the cabins.

I will try again later to find these threads for you and re-post!

Yes, the extended balconies are 60 sq ft instead of 40. We had an extended aft balcony on our last Legend cruise and a regular balcony on the cruise before. It seemed like that little bit of extra room made a big difference.
