playing cards on ships

For years we could go to the purser desk and get a free deck of cards.

We went on the Triumph this last week and were told that they don't do

that. That we need to go to the casino and buy them. While understand

the price of a deck of cards is not going break me. Is it just me or is carnival

getting cheaper and cheaper in the little things like the cards and pens?

We were in Costa Rica this past March in TORRENTIAL downpours...

Lenny, our cruise director, was walking all over the ship handing out cards. Maybe because of the rain and the cancelled excursions?

While I understand they used to be free and it would be disappointing if they stopped handing them out...how much can a deck of cards cost in the grand scheme of things?

Put them on your packing list! :D

...of course they are getting cheaper, customer service is in the toilet, and it won't be long before you are having to insert a quarter to actually use the toilet...
