Schplinky Posted October 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2006 If so, I'm wondering if anyone knows the brand. The shampoo on Celebrity was awful and made my hair look like straw. On the third day, I realised there was better shampoo in the gym locker room and started washing my hair there. The stuff in the room smelled like something you would buy in a dollar store while the stuff in the gym was really great.

Schplinky Posted October 17, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Nice. That makes sense, I guess. If you like it, you can buy it. :)
hammybee Posted October 17, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Yes they do, but I have never paid attention to the brand name. As an aside, I recently read how Carnival never used to provide shampoo and conditioner because they figured it would cost them about $3million a year to do so. All this changed, once they got free samples from Proctor and Gamble. This opened the door for other CCL -owned cruise lines to negotiate the best shampoo deals in exchange for marketing to a captive audiance. Thought this was interesting. Krazy Kruizers Posted October 17, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2006 We really enjoyed the Royal Dutch products that HAL used to provide. JMO - we don't like the new Elemis products. DH had problems with the shampoo and soaps and developed a rash. I couldn't get the conditioner out of the bottle -- very thick. Hair did not feel soft and nice. So on our few cruises I have had to bring along our own products.
Schplinky Posted October 17, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted October 17, 2006 On a side note, when we were on Freedom of the Seas a couple of weeks ago, I bought a nice citrus scented shampoo by american Crew in Miami. It got squished during the luggage loading but luckily, it was in a bag still and the bag was rolled up. It was a bit of a mess and I lost most of the shampoo but at least my clothes didn't get soapy.
jhannah Posted October 17, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 17, 2006 I like the Elemis, but like KK really liked the Royal Dutch products. Seems someone mentioned recently that there was another new brand being provided either now or soon. Does anyone recall?
Hoyaheel Posted October 17, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Seems someone mentioned recently that there was another new brand being provided either now or soon. Does anyone recall? L'Occitane is the rumor I read on this board. I've used their stuff (and Elemis--they run the spa at my favorite Vegas hotel) and it's lovely. I've used their stuff (and Elemis--they run the spa at my favorite Vegas hotel) and it's lovely. I'm afraid L'Occitane is a bit strong smelling and feminine for me. Hilton uses a Neutrogena shampoo that smells so much like rose petals (to me) that I always have to remember to bring my own. Of course, maybe I haven't had the good L"Occitane. I was in their store in Boston and found all the smells to be competing with each other and the experience was a bit overwhelming.
