Leah and Adam Posted October 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2006 Hi there! I "lurk" around here but saw your post and wanted to answer you. I do not know how you can get in touch with Fiona (probably a google search) but my husband and I got married at Mr. Sancho's Tropical Wedding Garden. It was amazing and our wedding planner Stephanie made our day so special. My grandmother still talks about her because Stephanie took special care of her while the rest of us enjoyed the festivities. We did not have to worry about a thing! The flowers, the set up, everything was beautiful! The Garden is private and off to the side from the beach club so there wasn't any "bathing suits" in my pictures. I will be happy to answer any questions. you can find Stephanie and www.cozumelweddingplanner.com tell her Leah and Adam say HI and we will be back to visit soon.. we are pregant so it will be in a few years but we want to show our son/daughter where mommy and daddy got married. Okay, I rambled too much. Good luck with your wedding, I am sure it will be beautiful.

I would guess Fiona has a website so you could do a google to find her or I believe Stephanie's is cozumelweddingplanner.com - Both are bilingual - Fiona I think is from Canada and Stephanie from the US. I live here and planned my wedding here and have to say there is a lot of paperwork involved - I would definitely try one of these girls who have lots of experience with the dealings here! Good Luck! wrp96 Posted October 20, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2006 First congrats on getting married. And you are right Cozumel is absolutely beautiful. BUT, this is where I put in my word of caution. Getting married in port while on a cruise can be wonderful, but what happens if the ship doesn't get to port. Make sure you have backup plans if you don't make it to Cozumel, which can happen for various reasons (hurricanes, bad weather, rough seas especially now that more ships are having to tender, altered itineraries, mechanical problems). I still remember last year just a day after Cozumel was hit by Wilma, there was a woman on these boards complaining because she had planned her daughters wedding for Cozumel while there on a cruise the next month and Royal Caribbean could not tell her where the ship would be going instead of Cozumel. Then a couple of weeks later when Royal Caribbean said they were still going to Cozumel, just on a different day she complained again because they weren't going to a different port (the beach where the wedding was supposed to be held was gone). Then she complained because they couldn't give her daughter exactly the wedding she wanted at the last minute. This is not to discourage you having your wedding while in port. It is just to let you know the downsides and to let you know the risks you need to take into account when planning your wedding.

dolfin4427 Posted October 23, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted October 23, 2006 :D Thank you to the poster who gave me Fiona's email, and yes i have heard all the horror stories of other weddings, no minister showing up, bad food, lost dresses, bad paper work, you name it i have heard it!! its a wonder i even want to try and do this :D and thank you to all who i have talked to and given me information. Fiona seems to be the right choice! She is on time. has wonderful food. no problems with paper work and everyone said she will work hard to make sure things run smoothly (which i understand is a hard thing to come by in Mexico ;) ) and now having called her and having dealt first hand with her i am sure i have made the right choice, her bubbly and can do attitude put my mind at ease, her knowledge makes sure that things get done right! she seemed to understand my needs and bend over backwards to do what ever needs to be done. i will keep you all updated on my progress lol thanks again to all!!!
