Our travel agent booked us in wrong dining, will we be able to switch?

Our stupid travel agent booked us on anytime dining, instead of the early seated time. We are going on this cruise with our whole family (8 of us), and they all have the early dinner and we are supposed to sit together. We have a table reserved and everything.

Because of the screw up we are #350 on the waiting list for the early dining list. I am wondering if we will be able to go into the dining room with our family? Do they check your seat ticket? This will be my first cruise so I'm not really sure how all that works.

When you get on the ship find out when the "Maitre D' Enquiries Desk" will be open and its location (Usually in one of the dining rooms and held before sailing). Explain your situation to him and I am sure you will get your table for 8. Have a great cruise.

Yes, they will check your cruise card and it will say which dining room you're supposed to eat at and which table if you're in Traditional dining. 350 is a long way down the wait list...but, I'd go straight to the Maitre'D on embarkation day and see if s/he can help you out. Especially explain that your whole family will be in Traditional. You may still not be able to switch, but it's at least worth asking. If they can't switch you, then maybe all of you could switch to anytime dining and make a standing reservation for the same table at the same time all week? Good luck with that!

A year ago we had three other couples with us on the

CP. When we got on board they had the six of them together and my husband and I sitting with someone we did not know.

We went right away to the Matri D and with very little explaining our situation, he fixed it so we had reserved seating in one of the anytime dining rooms at 6:30. just what we wanted and by a window. It was great. Everybit as good as traditional dining. Had the same staff for all 7 days. We felt they were very accommodating with us. :)

From your message it sounds like the rest of the group are at a table with a reservation for that table which seems to indicate Traditional Dining. If they have a table for 8 in Traditional then all you need to do is talk to the Maitre'd and get seated with them. If all of you are listed as being in Anytime Dining it may be a little harder to get into Traditional Dining. But you can make Anytime Dining like Traditional in that you can get the same table every night and the same waitstaff assigned to you. This might be easier as you can set up a different time for eating every night, by letting Maitre'd know this.
