johnql Posted October 20, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2006 It's just a la carte on the Spirit, approximately $12-15.

driker2 Posted October 20, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2006 Thanks for your replys. This seems to be the best deal on the ship! Not my experience! My wife and I have been to many teppanyaki restaurants in our time, including possibly the strangest experience. Staying at the ANA Grand Wien hotel in Vienna, a pouring rain kept us indoors. We went to the top floor for the hotel restaurant. A bit sated by Viennese food at that point, we ate at the teppanyaki restaurant atop a hotel in Vienna. That little teppanyaki-vignette out of the way, let me say that our experience at the teppanyaki restaurant on the Spirit was a major disappointment. The food was not particularly good and the chef, though he had a Japanese name, turned out to be an LA based comedian. It just did not work! We did enjoy eating at the attached Shogun, normal Japanese restaurant, on the Spirit.
LFM Posted October 20, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2006 Make your reservations for this dining room really early - as soon as you board the ship. This is by far the smallest dining room onboard and it fills up fast.
jp2001 Posted October 20, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2006 Only 12 seats and 3 seatings per night (6:00, 7:30 and 9:00 if I remember well). Prices are from 10 to 15$pp (most options are 10 or 12$). The confusion comes from the restaurant location. The Asian restaurant (Shogun) is in fact a 3 restaurants in one place. There is the restaurant itself with a full asian menu (excellent by the way) that costs 12$ pp, the sushi bar (a-la-carte pricing) and Teppenyaki room (a-la-carte pricing 10-15$ pp). If you eat from the sushi bar or the Teppenyaki room (teppenyaki room must be booked asking for Teppenyaki, not Shogun), then you don't have to pay the Shogun cover charge, just the price of the item you choose.
