shipshape sam Posted October 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2006 I would like to keep up with threads I have posted on, but........ I cannot search by my user name. Each time, it tells me there are none. I have emailed Cruise Critic twice with NO response from Cruise Critic. Any thoughts/help?
aqusis Posted October 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2006 If you go to the top and click on quick links, choose subscribed threads and it will bring up a list of threads on which you have posted.

Sam....right at the top of your message box there's a "Thread Tools" function. Click on that, and then click on "subscribe this thread". You get a notification by email that someone has replied to the thread, and a link - so you can go directly there from the email and post to that thread. The other thing I did so I don't lose certain threads with good information I may want later on is to bookmark them. Fran
shipshape sam Posted October 20, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted October 20, 2006 Thanks for the great information!!! :) I have gone back and subscribed to a number of threads I want to keep up with.
WhiteSoxFan Posted October 20, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2006 You probably are not picking a forum to search in. When you select to search by your user name you must highlight the forum or forums in which you want to search. These appear in the scroll box located below the user name search box. BillOh Posted October 20, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2006 Thanks for the great information!!! :) I have gone back and subscribed to a number of threads I want to keep up with. This may not be an easy way, but if threads are a few days old and you didn't subrscribe, you can do what I do. I reply to a message and then when its posted I click on my name and then click where it says, View all posts by BillOh. Might not be the right way, but it works for me.:D
Sheffie Posted October 20, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2006 Also, in the blue bar at the top of this page is "User CP" where all the threads that you have subscribed to, or posted on show which ones have been replied to since you were last on-line. It took me a couple of years before I saw this, and it is really great. Makes it quick to find new postings.
wrp96 Posted October 20, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 20, 2006 After you have subscribed to a thread, to get back to it all you have to do is go to Quick Links in the blue bar, and if you look down it will have an option to view your subscribed threads. TPKeller Posted October 21, 2006 #10 Share Posted October 21, 2006 Apparently this is not the default, but if you go into the User CP, then Edit Options, scroll down to the Messaging & Notification section, there is a pulldown for message subscription. Change it to any option other than "Do Not Subscribe" and then any time you post, you will be subscribed to that thread. You may later unsubscribe from any thread using the Thread Tools link at the top of the thread. Any time you go into the User CP, all subscribed threads which have been posted to since your last visit to the boards will be displayed, and you can click on the View All Subscribed Threads link to see older ones. As was mentioned, there are several ways to get to this information. One more hint... anytime you see this icon in front of a thread title: Clicking on it, will take you to the first unread message in the thread. (Actually I think it's the first post since you last visited the boards, not exactly unread.) But still very handy! Theron

Sheffie Posted October 21, 2006 #14 Share Posted October 21, 2006 I forgot to ask, how do you bookmark a thread? Thanks again for all your help. Ozzie63:D :D :D It depends on what service you have. I have AOL, and I have a heart at the top of each thread. I just drag that heart into my favorites box. At work, I just go to favorites and then add it. shipshape sam Posted October 21, 2006 Author #15 Share Posted October 21, 2006 This is great stuff. Maybe Cruise Critic should create a specific area for people to post questions and help that it is clear other GREAT CC posters know. thanks for the great input! :)

Ask Here! It's probably only a matter of time before this thread gets moved there. Of course, when that happens, nobody will ever see it again. Fran Harp Posted October 22, 2006 #18 Share Posted October 22, 2006 I forgot to ask, how do you bookmark a thread? Thanks again for all your help. Ozzie63:D :D :D Right at the top of the screen there is a menu...File Edit View Go Bookmarks Yahoo! etc. When you're in a thread you want to keep, click on bookmarks... it will bookmark the page. When you go to that thread, you will then have to go to the last page to find the most recent posts. It's not perfect but it helped me keep from losing them altogether.
