UK family Posted October 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2006 Hi there all you Princess experts! :) I am hoping that maybe you can help me please? Although we are not new to cruising, most of our cruising has been done with P&O. We are now onto their "Gold Tier" loyalty scheme. We are taking our first cruise with Princess this December (back to back), and also next July. We have been told that after our first cruise, we automatically get put in the top tier loyalty scheme with Princess, and therefore our benefits kick in. Now this is where we are confused!! - Do you think we would have to do the entire back to back cruise first - then the benefits kick in in July....or would it count after the first week of our back to back???!! Therefore, if anyone out there - or indeed a TA can help us we would be very grateful. Toto2Kansas Posted October 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2006 Since it sounds as if you booked this back to back cruise as two seperate cruises (?), then your perks should kick in after you finish the first leg. Usually they will have your platinum pin and info in your cabin the night before your first cruise ends.

If you are Gold now you may go to platinum depending on how many cruises you have but the Elite(top tier)will be taking you awhile.
Toto2Kansas Posted October 22, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2006 Sorry, must have misunderstood, silly me. Yes, from gold upward would be platinum level on Princess, guess I wasn't thinking clearly. Not many perks honestly for platinum, best one is the free internet. Best perks are when you have reached your 16th cruise and hit the Elite status.
hooked cruiser Posted October 22, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 22, 2006 Having done a B2B from the UK ourselves we had the same question and found that we were upgraded at the end of the first week therefore you should as well.
UK family Posted October 31, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted October 31, 2006 Thanks for all your help everyone - much appreciated. The "official" comment by Princess today, was that we will be on Elite level after completing the entire cruise...so in other words the benefits will kick in for our cruise next summer. Apparently, Princess are planning on changing this system very soon as with the Brits taking so many back to backs as an "all in cruise" as opposed to two separate cruises it causes confusion! Thanks to each of you:)
Rare Coral Posted November 1, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 1, 2006 I don't know the answer to your question but have a question for you. Do all of your P&O count towards your status on Princess? I knew Sitmar did and I think P&O does but am not sure how that works.

I knew Sitmar did and I think P&O does but am not sure how that works. P&O counts not only for your gold / plat / elite but also for the most traveled. We had a table mate (British woman) on one of our Tahiti trips and she was most traveled on our cruise (primarily from her P&O trips)
Druke I Posted November 1, 2006 #9 Share Posted November 1, 2006 I sailed with P&O twice before they bought Princess way back when - and those two cruises do count, along with my Sitmar cruise. Odd thing, we are thinking of taking a cruise on Sun Princess 3-08, while she is with P&O (Aus), and was told that that cruise would not count, nor would Elite perks be given while aboard! You figure.
