lv2bcruzin Posted October 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2006 After much research, especially on Trip Advisor, on hotels and their prices in San Juan we decided on the Comfort Inn. Didn't really want to spend much more than $100/nt, but we also didn't want to be in the ghetto. Having said that I know that the Comfort Inn isn't Hyatt or the such, but we won't be checking in untill probably 11pm and will be checking out at about 10am next day (day of departure). So, a few hours isn't worth a few hundred. Just want somewhere clean where we can get a good sleep. Have any of you stayed at the Comfort Inn in San Juan? Trip Advisor ranks it #26 on it's popularity index and it's reviews are mainly good with a few bad ones here and there. By the way this is also for Nov. 24th, the day after Thanksgiving, so prices are higher than other times.
sunlover5 Posted October 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2006 Most reviews on this board say the Holiday Inn Express right across the street is a little nicer. Did you try priceline?? If you use priceline at all right now for 4 star in SJ area the Caribe Hilton is coming up. I got it for 3 nights in Feb. for 75.00 and many are getting it for 65.00 or 70.00. Course we are staying for 3 days prior so the Comfort Inn will probably be just fine especially since you are getting there so late. Have a good trip! ChuckyMoe Posted October 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2006 I have booked the Comfort Inn in January for 2 nights precruise and 1 night postcruise. I have heard mostly that it is a clean hotel, nothing fancy. That is fine with us. I choose not to spend $200 per night for a hotel room. There are 10 in our group and I am not familiar with Priceline or bidding so this was the best alternative. Maybe some day I'll get adventurous enough to try it. I tried priceline from $50-$100 and have gotten nothing over the past few months including tonight. I went as far as 2 star for $75 and got nothing. I was originally looking at Holiday Inn Express, but they sold out before I got around to booking.
sunlover5 Posted October 23, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 23, 2006 Keep your reservation and don't give up on Priceline. Don't know when you are going, but I have been doing priceline all summer and just got ours about a week ago. Hopefully more rooms will open up!!
