Aft 7390 versus 9392

Wonder if anyone can help me...My parents had 9392 on Explorer in September and absolutely loved it. We have booked the 12 night crusie in January 08 and the only aft for my parents available is 7390. Can anyone give me their opinion on this room and balcony. Is it similiar to 9390 ? I saw a few pictures but they looked very dark and covered. Any info would help.

We were in 7390 on the Mariner last month. I don't know how that relates to other ships.

This cabin was the second one in from the corner. The balcony is HUGE - we had two regular chairs, a larger deck chair, a chaise lounge and a small table and still had plenty of room.

The view was partially obstructed by posts, and when you looked down, you saw the crew balcony. There were rarely people on that deck.

The cabin itself was a bit smaller than another cabin we stayed in on Mariner. There was a love seat instead of a sofa, and fewer shelves in the closet. Still, we had plenty of room to store all of our clothes.

We did not get a lot of direct sunlight, so if you want to suntan you should consider a higher deck. We got some shade from the 8th deck, and the 8th deck got some shade from the 9th deck. So if suntanning is what you want - go with the 9th deck.

The balcony itself was wonderful, and it was great to have virtually no wind. HOWEVER, the one downside to any of the aft cabins is that the lights were left on above the crew deck all night long ... so no pitch dark nights with the curtains left open!

I would post a picture, but I am stymied by our new camera.

Hope this helps!
