wht is it when I look at the weather for any of the islands on the aruba route its ALWAYS raining or thunderstorms?

Quit worrying!

It ALWAYS says rain on the islands! I'm sure you will have lots of sunshine :)

Stop checking weather reports - that will relieve your depression!

Spent a week in Aruba. It rained every day....little sun showers that did not even make you want to leave the beach! And it must have rained every night as well, since we'd find anything left on our balcony to dry overnight wet (finally started using the hang-up in the bath!).

Same deal in Jamaica last year. The showers were a bit more intense than Aruba, but then we were blessed with the most beautiful rainbows!

Don't worry about the weather! Have a great vacation!

Don't believe the forecast! I was also majorly depressed prior to our Aug. cruise on AOS because the forcast was for rain in each port--however, we never got a single drop on the entire week!:) The weather could not have been more perfect--and I spent a lot pre-cruise time miserable for nothing!

Of all the cruises we have been on I remember it raining twice. Once on St. Maarten it really came down. Thank heaven for the plastic shopping bags:) we looked hysterical!! and a quick shower on Dominica where we had the most beautiful rainbow. The one thing I don't pack is an umbrella because the showers don't last that long. Follow the advice of the people on the islands "Don't worry, be happy". Have a great cruise.:)

Why do you think they are called tropical islands? Rain is what makes them beautiful. Like above posters said, rain doesn't last long. And when it does rain it is very refreshing and cools things down a bit. You will be glad when you get the rain.

Why would you even look at the weather?? You are still going to go no matter what the weather says, right?? So don't beat yourself up worrying about it.

We have been on 6 or 8 Caribbean cruises. I have NEVER checked the weather beforehand and to the best of my memory, it has NEVER rained!!!

Like others have said......Don't worry , be happy and have a fabulous time on your cruise!!!!

Most weather reports for the islands say "scattered showers" which is exactly what happens. We went to Hawaii and it rained the whole time except the last night. Just get back from Bermuda and had rain showers off and on also. And I have also been on cruises where the sky was blue and the sun was shining every day! As everyone has said, there is nothing you can do about the weather, so no use fretting about it! I always pack a fold up umbrella which I take off the ship with me if it LOOKS like it is, or IS raining. Also a light weight raincoat that I can roll up and put in my back pack. This way if we DO get a "cloud burst" while we are roaming, I can throw my jacket on and continue my wandering while everyone else sits huddled in the car or under a tree!

Bad weather while on vacation still beats out good weather while being stuck back home at work. :D

Have to agree with you there! Just two weeks ago, it rained on and off while we were Bermuda, was really cold when we left Philadelphia, but what do I remember? It was a great cruise.

OP: Don't worry. You will have a grand time.

When did you cruise? We were on the 10/7 sailing on Empress of the Seas. Not fun being on mopeds when the heavens opened up! We went from the ship to Horseshoe Bay and had to stop twice. When we finally got there, the rain had stopped but it was cloudy and crummy. Darned if that was going to keep me from taking a swim in that beautiful water, tho!

We were on 10/7, too, got stuck in a big rain while we were walking in Hamilton (must have been when you were on your way to the beach), but come on, it wasn't so bad, but heck, we were not on mopeds, sorry - I know that must have been hard. But, overalll, wasn't the cruise great???

Yea, we had a great time. First time we have been on a ship that small in a long time. But we enjoyed it. Our cabin was in a great location on deck 9. Too cold the last day and trying to walk on Sunday was TOUGH, but we have skirted around 2 hurricanes in the past (we had 12' waves one time) and I kind of like it for a "little while." lol. Just thankful we actually GOT to Bermuda after the Captain's dire predictions after muster. The food was wonderful. Only complaint I have is that they had lobster and prime rib the night we were docked in Hamilton. We had early seating and our friends INSISTED we go to Swizzle Inn for dinner...when I got back to the ship and realized I missed that dinner I was a little bit upset!!! I honestly have no idea why they would schedule it that night and not on one of the formal nights. It was a little different than we are used to, but we went on Empress to see Bermuda again and dock in Hamilton and St. George and I am glad we did. Bermuda is still as beautiful as we remember, and even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits!
