Cozumel Time Difference

Hi is there a difference in time from Cozumel to ship time on Mariner? Thanks

Mj....when We Were On The Grandeur Last Year In Cozumel....there Was A Time Difference, I Think Cozumel Is Equivalent To Central Standard Time, But The Captain Told The Passengers To Keep Their Watches Set To The Ship's Time....i Hope This Helps....referee

Cozumel is on Central time. However as above poster stated, the Captain says to keep your watch set to ship time, which I believe is based on the time from their departure port.

Set yur watch to ship time. Live by ship time. If you are booking a tour independantly, advise of the ports times. They are very, very used to adjusting the time..heck, they do it every day....don't sweat the details, let others worry for you.

We just got off the Grandeur this past Sunday. The Captain had us move our clocks back the night before we arrived in Cozumel and the night we left Costa Maya he had us move them forward again. The 2 previous times on the Grandeur our clocks remained the same throughout the trip - even though we stopped at Cozumel on these trips also.

When I questioned this, I was told that it is always the Captains choice. (Strangely enough, we had the same Captain for 2 of my 3 voyages!)

we were in Cozumel last week on Freedom of the Seas and we kept to ship's time which was an hour different from local time. What will happen after Daylight ends this weekend, I don't know, but if you pay attention to the information in your cruise compass,you will learn whether or not to adjust your watches or just stay on ship's time.:)

I looked up the time zones for the western carribean ports a few weeks ago - Cozumel is on central time (1 hour earlier than eastern time) but they are also on daylight savings time, so will always be one hour earlier than the ship which leaves out of a florida or eastern seaboard port. Grand Cayman, on the other hand, is on eastern time but NOT on daylight savings time so during the summer is 1 hour earlier, but during the winter, is the same. Like we aren't confused enough already!! ha!

Holy Moly!! hahahah, thanks for all that info...we will be in Cozumel in Feb,2007 and we are signed up for the Dolphin excursion which is at 12 pm and our ship gets in at 10 am so I will contact the excursion company thank you again:D

always set your watch to the ship's time regardless where you are. Better safe than sorry!
