Has anyone taken a cab here? what are the prices each way? Any info on Sunset Beach Bistro or the Pirates Nest????????? I am more ineterested in the ambiance, not the food. any commets will be helpful!
Choozin Croozin Posted October 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2006 HI paradise gal, here is a reply to a post I did awhile back. I have not been yet, but both of these places sound wonderful, though not very close to port. "For anyone just stumbling upon this thread, the Flying Fishbone IS a once in a lifetime romantic dining experience. From the cruise ship pier, it is an $18 -20 taxi ride each way (per car, not per person). A less expensive option is a restaurant, Marina Pirata (sorry no website), which is located down the road from the FF. They serve fresh seafood at reasonable prices. They also offer some chicken and beef for the landlubbers like me :) We have been there a few times and have seen the local fishermen pulling up to the kitchen door in their boats selling their day's/night's catch. We ate at MP on Monday night with our 10 year old. They have seating on a pier out over the water lit with spot lights so that the fish come up to the top. Beware though, no railings, straight over the side and into the drink for you :D "
smoothdancer Posted October 28, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 28, 2006 I so agree on the Flying Fishbone.... You can have both atmosphere and a wonderful dinner. Each trip we have made to Aruba, we make sure to have dinner there. Here is a picture of sunset when we were at the Flying Fishbone. http://www.justcruisin-sv.com/Magazine/aruba%20fp%20five.htm

A taxi to Palm Beach and both the Sunset Beach Bistro at the Phoenix or Pelican's Pirate's Nest between the Playa Linda and Holiday Inn is $10 each way. The taxi fare is per car, not per person and will take a maximum of 5 people. There is a listing of fares at the website http://taxiaruba.com/new/farelist.html They do list fare to the Pirate's Nest as $8. This refers to the Pirate's Nest restaurant at the Bucuti Resort on Eagle Beach. As others have stated, for romantic dining on the beach, the Flying Fishbone and for fresh seafood dining out over the water, Marina Pirata are both excellent choices. Taxi fare to both of these restaurants is $18 each way. Again, this is per taxi, not per person. Other informative information/threads can be found at: Best Place for Dinner in Aruba? Arubalisa Posted October 28, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 28, 2006 Have you ever dined at the Sunset or Pirates? Yes, both, but quite a few years ago. Not recent enough to give you any opinion of the food or service. Just to say the Pelican's Nest is out over the ocean and the Sunset Bistro overlooks the beach and the ocean.
