candelle Posted October 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2006 Can anyone advise where we can find a website which shows which pier our ship (Millennium) will berth in at each port we will be visiting? I understand that some of the ports that are miles from attractions, whereas others are ‘on the doorstep’. I have looked at port websites, but still can’t find the information I would like. Many thanks.
mii Posted October 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2006 There is none that I know of. Yes it would be nice to have a web site like that. There are times, that ships use a number of piers, for example in Alaska where the piers are so busy so sometimes you tender and sometimes your ship is at the pier. Sorry. megabill Posted October 28, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2006 My experience on the Millennium is that its up to the individual port authority to decide what berth a ship will be in - but that even if there is a schedule - that could very easily change. There have been times i know that we're scheduled to be in a certain berth, but upon arrival the ship would be bumped to another. It *seems* that certain ports (such as Barcelona) will have a schedule of a month or two at a time, while ports such as Civitavecchia only let the ship know a couple days ahead of time. (again - it just *seems* that way to me - it could be possible im way wrong). I will be on Mercury soon and am searching the different ports to see if there is any useful info on piers then heading over to google earth to get a visual as well as see if there's any other info such as shops, restaurants, etc. It might be a bit of a longer process, but maybe will help you a bit ;)
