ORDPLATAA Posted October 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2006 Greetings Everyone- I will be traveling in the Feb 4 Caribbbean Princess sailing out of Fort Lauderdale. I will be traveling with my mother who has limited mobility (uses a wheelchair for distances but can walk/stand for limited periods). We are pretty comfortable with catching a cab from FLL airport to the ship - but disembarking the ship on Feb 11th has me a little concerned. Is it better for us to just grab a cab at the pier (as we will certainly be able to have a porter help us with our bags) as we are leaving or should we arrange for a car service to pick us up? Our flight is not until 12:55pm so I am not that worried about rushing to the airport. I am more concerned about the crowds (plus the number of ships in port that day - 6). Also, since it will be my mother, myself and luggage, how easy is it to get assistance checking in at FLL (we are flying Southwest back to Tampa). Thanks!!! Sarahsmom85 Posted October 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2006 We will we traveling in Nov, I'll let you know what I find out. We are hoping to find a cab by the port to take us to the airport. Our flight is 12:55 too, with Southwest. Unforunately we will be traveling Thanksgiving weekend so I am prepared for the worst: being that it is the most traveled weekend of the year.
