Ordering Bar Setup On SilverSea's Website

We are on the Silver Shadow 9 night cruise departing from Barbados on 12/12/2006.

This is our first SilverSeas cruise. We understand that we can pre-order the set up of adult beverages in our suite, however are not certain how to go about that. Would appreciate any advice that SS seasoned cruisers can provide.

Charlie, you can specify your initial bar set-up via your TA, on-line with Silversea (you'll have to add the request--they don't have a special place for it), or even try via phone. However, my own experience, and one cited by a number of other posters, is that the bar will often not be set up to your desire prior to embarkation.

The good news is that you can make your request directly to your room stewardess, and she will comply very quickly. In our case, it took about an hour from our request until our Glenlivet and Amaretto di Amore arrived. Apparently the Amaretto was difficult to find--and they had to bring us a litre bottle. In the meanwhile, we had to put up with the Champagne in our ice bucket, although we could have gotten into the beer or wine that was already in our fridge.

I found myself worrying about a lot of these sorts of details prior to our cruise on the Whisper. There was no need to worry--with the exception of the Mandara Spa--which lost all records of our on-line reservations.

i out the request in the general comments section at the bottom of the online guest form and everything was in the suite.

I was told that it need to be done 90(?) days before...i think you'll find there is a little disclaimer at the top of the page once the docs have been issued that changes made will not be guaranteed after that time but it does't hurt to try!
