Does anyone know if you can change a name on a cruise booking at the last minute.. There is a chance my younger son cannot go and my oldest son would be able to... Thanks

Yes you can and I have seen it posted that the charge is 50$ but not positive on this.

Yes, you can change the person as long as one of the original people in that cabin remains. There is normally a small fee involved. You should contact whomever you booked through and ask the procedures and fees involved and what their deadline is for making the change.

carnival charges $50 for a name change, go through your TA, I used priceline, first time and they covered $25 of the $50 for us.... my idiot friends name says something else on her birth certificate so we just went through this

It's funny that you said that because I had the same thing happen with my MIL for our upcoming cruise. Her name is misspelled on her birth certificate. :eek: Our TA took care of it with no charge at all. :D Now her cruise documents have the wrong name also. :rolleyes:

MaddySammy - The name change after final payment, which obviously you're in, is $50. (Prior to final payment, no charge.) You'd better check on that "last minute" timeframe, however. The ship's manifest has to be turned in 48 hrs. before sailing.

Cotton, I thought that would have been correct also but the TA spoke with Carnival and were told that it would be better if the name matched the birth certificate when told what the two id items said. There is a pretty big difference in the two names, not just a misspelling. It actually seems to be a completely different name.

respectfully disagree after just going through this. the name MUST match the proof of citizenship papers, in her case her birth certificate. didn't matter that the birth certificate said paula and her drivers liscense said kathy (don't ask). kathy was now paula scott for the entire cruise. this is a requirement of the department of homeland security. friend did NOT have a passport

That's what I thought also. But who am I to argue with an "expert"? ;)
